The Steelers got a good look at Aiyuk last season when he torched them for over 100 yards and 2 TDs.

Wilson threw for 26 TDs and only 8 interceptions on a bad Denver team, if he puts up similar stats this season they have a QB.

I can get behind the trade concept and a big re-worked deal.

Two first round picks is crazy though….

Like i said earlier, how good is Aiyuk when he will not be surrounded by all that talent at San Fran? Aiyuk seems to be getting all the credit but none given to Purdy?! Hmmm

The Steelers didn't have a top flight passing defense to stop Aiyuk or anyone. Pat Peterson got embarrassed all over the place, all season. JPJ faired a little better, but he was a rookie.
I think if I'm taking the sample size of 1 to base an opinion that a guy is top WR money worthy, I'll take the game that matters most and not the one against the lower 3rd rated passing defense.

The Steelers would be pretty talented themselves if Aiyuk was on the team, with all that talent the 49ers have Aiyuk led them in receiving yards last season.

Agreed. But what will become of our mature less Pickens? Will he strip naked in middle of game coz he isn’t getting his catches?

The TD to INT ratio is solid but many of those TDs came in garbage time on a bad team. His YPA was also very weak. He is nothing more than a declining game manager at this stage of his career and one who will likely be injured. I don’t trust Fields at all but at least he has potential upside?

The issue next year is we could have holes at rb, DT, QB and wr. There us good chance Pickens will boost our or seek a trade next year.

That’s why I would have loved a tier two wr this year to really see what Pickens can do with a competent OC and QB. He may very well be better than Aiyuk. I think his ceiling is higher. If we get Aiyuk though we essentially have admitted hat Pickens is gone.

I understand why there's projection based off history as that's all anyone has to go on. I try to just go into a season as a fan with a fresh start attitude. It makes it more enjoyable for me.I don't want to take in misery any sooner than I have to. Maybe it'll be great season and I just saved myself from the pain. :smiley1: Just my own approach to it for me personally but I also understand why the deep divers into off season activity have theirs.

That's one of the things that really sucks about this situation. I also think that Pickens may have the potential to be one of the top receivers in the NFL. Right now we have him for cheap. I bet that we could get him for a lot less than 30 million dollars on a follow-up contract. We just need the guy to mature and bring that buttload of talent that he has to every game with maximum effort.

Forget the Jet Sweep, this is what Arthur Smith wants his receivers to do downfield. Aiyuk runs all the way to the goal line blocking for his RB, after blowing up Levi Wallace.
