Do you think that the Steelers could get him for a 4th rounder or something close, judging by what receivers are going for? He is in the final year of a contract, so you are really only compensating the 49ers for one year of him.
This is speculation. We could wake up tomorrow and find that he is a Steeler, or maybe there is no interest by the Steelers at all. I am learning to expect the unexpected with this GM.

Chances are better Steelers will draft a WR.

Center, WR, QB...in first 3 rounds. Wouldn't surprise me.

    Rattlesnake in the 3rd round.

The 49ers aren't trading Aiyuk for a 4th, it will probably take multiple picks to acquire him.

That seems excessive for a one year rental, no matter how good.
He does resemble Tomlin. Steelers should get Omar Epps and Aiyuk so they could be triplets.

I heard they want and 2024 no.1 pick and a 2024 no. 3 pick. No way should the Steelers take this trade at that price. Also no way they give him up for a 4th.

So, multiple high draft picks, and then he will want a huge contract that would seriously hurt his new team’s ability to fill other needs for years to come. Why, even Cleveland wouldn’t do something that stu…..oh, never mind.

This is a good year for WR in the draft, and that has to depress the market. I bet the niners don’t get what they are hoping for.

SF can't possibly sign him next year. They've kicked the can down the road, and are already $10 million over the cap next year (using this year's cap, so it will change) with only 36 contracts. If they don't trade him this year, they're looking at a third in 2026.
Steelers are $105 million under the cap for next year, with 25 contracts.

Not sure of the compensation to the 49ers but it’s guaranteed he will not be a 1 yr rental. He’s playing on his 5yr option, and his Agent WILL want a long term contract signed before he plays anywhere else, and his price tag STARTS at this years option price…. 20 mil + per year.

That being said he maybe could he had for a 2nd rd pick, probably nothing lower than a 3rd.

Your not gonna get Aiyuk for a 4th.

I was thinking in my head. Steelers trade 20th round selection for 49ers 31st and Brandon Aiyuk. I feel like this could be a possible deal. Drops you down 11 spots in round one, but I feel this a deep talented draft to be picking at clear end of 1st round.

But, Aiyuk only worth getting if you sign him to longer term deal.

The team that trades for Aiyuk would likely sign him to a contract extension.

The reports are that the 49ers wanted WR Zay Jones and a first round pick from Jacksonville for Aiyuk.

    LOL, I guess I did!
Another factor not considered thus far, Pickens might be in a snit if they sign a WR who could be #1, and demand a trade. That seems to be happening some lately.

yep - sign, redo his contract for a 4 yr deal, something like that.

could have done that w D Johnson but they (I) didn't want to

He is a one year rental playing out his option year, until he is signed to a long term. But the trade value part (return to the 49ers) has to be at least partly based on the years on his contract. I still would bet they don’t get the return they hope for, but his agent’s children all get their college tuition paid for, and then some….

Somebody else brought that up. The proper response to that would be to tell Pickens to shut up and play or find out how much he can earn from the bench.

I've thought about swapping out our first rounders. That, along with next year's 2nd, would give us the equivalent of next year's first. And sub out a primanti sandwich for dan moore. pretty much equal value.

I like Aiyuk a lot, but no way do I trigger that deal knowing that I also have to pay him well north of $20 million/year. I’m not a big fan of Moore, but I don’t see anyone better out there for us to backfill his role in 2024.

Better to sign a less expensive vet and draft a WR. Especially when considering the Steelers don't know what they have at QB at this point. IMO, WR's are down near the bottom of the list when it comes to winning games in the NFL.

trading 1sts and getting him would be all right, the eventual CAP hit might be Ouch, but you know you have got a quality player, and you could get your center too, I don't think it would go that easy, but you can ask, lol. We are going to be putting money into the O sooner than later, if they feel this was their guy then I would likely take Pickens out for any long term decision, not bad or good, just reality.

I guess that would be a good deal, as long as things are consensual.
