I saw Joe Theisman talking about this last night and he is on Brady's side and said he feels Brady is being treated unfairly. He said something I didn't know. He said that Brady turned over transcripts of every single text message he had. Is that actually true?

I don't know man. Rape is just such a serious charge in the public's eye and this thing about Brady just doesn't "seem" like such a big deal to the non hardcore fans. I still think Goodell would try and make an example out of anyone being ACCUSED even if they were totally innocent just to appease the public. Not saying that's right, of course, but just saying I wouldn't be surprised. I just think from a PR perspective Ben's cases were much more of a nightmare. Cheating just doesn't trigger such a visceral and emotional response as supposed rape does.

As far as the sequence of events. He said they'd never turn over his phone, destroyed the phone then afterwards (a month or so) offered transcripts of text messages (to Goodell before his appeal hearing) in a spreadsheet form for them to parse through. Do you think he'd actually "not" cut out anything incriminating?

I'm getting sick of these *pats. If he plays opening day, justice would for him to turn his leg like 2007 and miss the whole year then be suspended the 1st 4 games of the 2016 season. Also If they get an injunction and I was commish, I would put him on the commish exempt list till court was over. Two separate things I know

What's great is seeing the Pats apologists try to use the Wells said he didn't need it, but that was clearly after he was told he wouldn't get it AND it was after he had already destroyed it!

OK, now I see it. Everyone gets to bluster and Goodell gets to reduce/eliminate the suspension because he's forced to settlement by the courts. Brady gets to settle and not admit to anything....

I have a bad feeling, based on some of Florio's comments on the judge's directives to both sides, that Brady's going to get off with a slap on the wrist.

I think all of us have seen this enough. The wealthy and powerful almost always weasel their way out of things through legal smoke and mirrors.

That's what I was getting at. Judge is directing settlement talks on the 12th as well as the 19th before he decides to render a decision.

If that's not a "save face" opportunity, then I just don't know.

Wells' investigation found text messages between Brady and a pair of equipment managers — one of whom referred to himself as "the Deflator" — discussing the preparation of footballs for the Jan. 18 game. The Patriots advanced to the Super Bowl and beat the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 for Brady's fourth NFL title.

Although Wells asked repeatedly for Brady's cellphone, the investigator also testified: "I did not tell Mr. Brady at any time that he would be subject to punishment for not giving -- not turning over the documents. I did not say anything like that."

Brady's lawyers have said that the league made up its rules without proper notice to Brady, and that it didn't follow its rules at all in some cases. They have also questioned whether Goodell was independent enough to conduct a fair hearing, even though the collective bargaining agreement gives him that authority.

This isn't over. Brady still might play game 1. The Patriots cheated in each and every championship run. Unfathomable that they continue to be held in such high esteem by so many pundits.

It's looking more and more like he's going to weasel out of this. Not enough attention is being paid to the inconsistencies in Brady's statements, particularly in the appeal. The man is a liar, simple as that. But smoke and mirrors are going to shield him.

The suspension will never be reduced to 0, not going to happen.

2 games is the most it will be reduced and if Brady is arrogant enough to thumb his nose at that, the judge will hit him with all 4.

I agree. Two games will wind up being the suspension IMO.

If all 4 games are lifted off the suspension, it will give the notion that Brady is above the league. I don't see that happening. 2 game reduction will more likely be the result.

How come there has been no testimony under oath from the equipment managers? You know the two guys probably making hourly wages who (according to the texts) basically had to beg for some incentive from multimillionaire Bradylocks to risk their jobs and help him cheat.

I don't think the courts get too involved in the length of suspension, I think they are more likely to make a decision whether Brady or the NFL is right or at least more right than the other. To me this really winds up being what the courts see as more egregious Brady's lack of cooperation or the NFL's bungling related to their own procedures with which they handle footballs prior to a game.

Also as much as I can't stand Brady, I do think he has a pretty valid point about just voluntarily giving over your phone with private information (I would imagine Tommy didn't want the pics of him in Uggs with Giselle doing him from behind with a strap-on to be discovered ;))

To me it is Brady - the smoking gun to me is the texts from the equipment manager who never ever would have been deflating balls for a superstar QB unless said superstar QB gave the wink and nod to do it. Even though the NFL bungled large portions of their investigation along with having lackluster policy for managing balls prior to the kickoff of a game it just appears too obvious to me that the Pats were doing something fishy.

So I am betting the courts either keep the 4 games or reduce it to zero, there will not be an in-between....I am leaning towards zero with a strong condemnation of Brady - Tommy will then give his smug smile and prepare to throw 4 TDs against the Steelers and have one of his QB sneaks where he then spikes the ball like the azzhole that he is.

Well while ago I saw an article that claimed goodell had fabricated some stuff to make Brady look even worse or something. This thing is like a male soap opera. LOL. I'm honestly completely indifferent to it.
