"One key to success for a quarterback is to study a lot of film in order to understand defensive tendencies and know how the defense will try to defend everything you are trying to do as an offense,” Brady said, in a statement released by the Steelers. “But that never worked against Troy. He was one of the most instinctive and disruptive players I have ever played against. Outside of his incredible athleticism, his greatest skill was his unpredictability."

Who cares what Brady states or thinks?!

He is a bonafide cheater. Through and through and no more need to be said about that aspect. Troy does not NEED the sympathy from a self righteous hypocrite!!

Oh, dang it. Less disgusted with Brady by a tiny bit after that statement.

Troy will make the HOF with or without a Brady endorsement.

I don't care who endorses Troy. An endorsement is an endorsement. And besides, if a CHEATER can't get the best of you, what greater compliment is there?

Really? The great Troy Polamalu doesn't need an endorsement from this robotic system QB

Translation - "One key to my success as a QB is to have Bill Belicheat deliver precise opposing team practice tape including but not limited to signal calls, line up formations and up to the second pre-snap reads. Doing that against #43 of the Pittsburgh Steelers was a tad more difficult because he was such a universal player. But in the long run we still got the best of them, just like we did with all the other teams we've played against over my ******* Dynasty."

Idk Brady and BB didn't seem to have a problem torching him during big games.

If not for injuries Troy would probably be the greatest safety of all time and probably top 10 nfl player of all time

Troy's play will get him in the HOF and not what Brady or anyone else says.
It's frustrating to hear about the Patriots, Brady, Coach Cheat of how wonderful they are. They are cheaters. Not rumors, not speculation but a proven fact.

I repeat and, again, a Troy Polamalu vs. Ed Reed debate is the equivalent of a showdown between Minkah Fitzpatrick vs. Jamal Adams. Nevermind it being two different playstyles. That is not the main issue.

Strong Safety is far different than Free Safety ever was, has and will be.

I had to go back and look at Lott's history, pretty remarkable. A lot of times people will say a particular CB should jump tp safety later in their career. What is not often understood is they are completely different positions with different skill set requirements. Carnell Lake was pushed into the reverse one year and did an outstanding job.

Lott was a pro bowler at CB for 4 years I believe (2 of those years first team all pro), then went on to be a 6x first team all pro at safety. I love Troy and think his uniqueness at the position and effectiveness on the field was unparalleled in his time, but Lott was quite a stud back there as well.

The op said Troy would have been the greatest safety (not FS or SS) of all time which he wouldn't be. Got it?

Put Troy as a free safety and he likely has close to as many picks if not more than Ed reed and probably lasts longer too. Troy was an insane ball hawk as a SS

The OP never said anything of the sort. All SteelersforLife8810 did was copy a quote from what Tom Brady stated about Troy. After that, he left a link. There is no mention by the OP, within his thread post that states Troy would have been the best Safety ever anywhere.

That however is nugatory anyway as, nevermind the OP stating such does not exist, it is irrelevant overall. What is relevant is your original point about Ed Reee being better than Troy. As I have stated multiple times and, I will state again, apples to oranges.

Whether you like it or not, Troy Polamalu WILL be enshrined in Canton on his First Ballot. He revolutionized the Strong Safety position forever. Why else would players like Jamal Adams and Derwin James be selected so highly?!

    Yep.

People tend to forget that teams never threw near Troy's vicinity. That was a big no no. Nevermind him picking the ball off.

Troy would have converted that into points. That is what made him so deadly in coverage. For that matter, that was a risk few teams were willing to take.
