I was really bummed out he missed that but didn't think about too much at the time. Then I went and watched the game over and noticed something that I hope doesn't become a problem. I don't think that miss was entirely Boswell's fault.

Watch the two FGs, specifically the holder, the ball is snapped closer to the holder's body than normal. Then he seems to bobble the ball slightly and just barely getting it down. It was really noticeable on the second FG when the ball just went to the inside of the right upright.

Perhaps I'm wrong which is why I'm bringing it up. I'm hoping someone else noticed the bobble or hitch that was there in getting the ball down cleanly. Anyway, I'm hoping it was just karma since he was the only kicker not to miss a PAT last season.

My son was angry at Boz, because of that miss, but I said to keep in mind that he’s got a new holder. I didn’t notice anything specific, like you did, but a couple of the holds looked a bit off... Just not as smooth. If that’s the case, I’m sure they’ll get it ironed out this week.

I'm sure Boz might be used to Berry. This was his first time with Colquitt holding.

Everyone likes to blame kickers for misses, but sometimes the snap and hold are all equally important.

New holder with minimal practice together = No big deal

One of the concerns of going with a new punter was the lack of familiarity between boz and his new holder. There will probably be bumps along the road, but they’ll get it sorted

His first Kick off went 9 yards deep in the endzone. Later in the game he shanked an out of bounder around the 10 yard line allowing the Giants to start at their own 40. I know its not point related but this is more concerning to me than the missed extra point. I think that's more easily correctable.

The shank bothered me more than anything, and that might have even been coaches wanting him to do something cute, who knows. A couple of reliable kickers looked crappy over the weekend, lack of preseason likely affects them as well. Hope it's just a case of first game yips.

I saw it too, and I guess I wonder why such a difference? Wasn't Colquitt the holder in KC?
