One does not simply re-sign the Boykin.

Of course you're referring to Grumpy, Dopey, Sneezy and Happy - right? Based on your tirade Rev - may be time for a ice cold Roy Rodgers with a Shirley Temple chaser.

It's funny you say that because Ricky Steamboat was on my flight out of Knoxville! I shook his hand and thanked him for all the great memories he provided me as a kid. He's still pretty dang stout actually.

I'd be all for signing this guy. He's a good nickel corner. But we have that already in William Gay, so I'm not sure. If he comes at a cheap price why not? Should help bringing Burns and Golson along better and not feed them to the wolves right away.

Probably the only two drinks you can order in Tennessee that don't involve sour mash in the mixology but lots of 7 Up and Grenadine and usually ordered by those 4 ft 6 in and under. I think you're safe here - right?

A pretty good player but this is the third team that has let him walk in a year. There has to be some behind the scenes stuff going on.

I really really liked Ras-I-Dowling coming out of college, but I think drug use or abuse was the knock on him? I could be wrong about that, Thig. Lots of concussions so memory is not my best attribute.

Off the field issue for Boykin, is what I'm reading from several people. No particulars though. Should clarify itself in a few days I imagine.

it must be something. a guy just wanting more playing time is not a reason to not want him, heck everyone in the league thats not starting should feel that way.

I could see this happening, really something more to this young man that the average fan does not know?

If he knew the system, he would have played last year, before the Steelers were practically forced to put him out there. Or, the Steelers wanted to bench him just for spite, and to create message board fodder.

On a related note, the Steelers signed TE David Johnson. Maybe interest in the 90th guy on the roster will derail the Boykin talk.

If Boykin fit our system AND our locker room, he would have seen the field more last season and he'd still be on the roster this season.

    Next.

The Steelers org was worried about losing a draft pick if they play Boykin too much

Imagine that. I can't believe that his biggest supporter didn't know better then the coaches from the arm of his couch. Shocking.
