    RIP.

Although given how he looked in 1996 at the Olympics, I'd say he's done well to make it to 2016.

What a boxer, though, and what a personality.

First time I made book was in 7th grade for the Clay/Liston fight in Feb '64. Even the nuns wanted a piece of the action. Two biggest events that year - Clay/Liston and the Beatles arrival in the US. One of the funniest comedy bits ever on TV - probably on Johnny Carson show several years later - was Billy Crystal doing both his Ali and his Howard Cosell imitation with Ali sitting next to him making threatening gestures and trying to contain his laughter at the same time. Classic. Thanks Ali for the refreshing entertainment before it got all political.

I got a chance to meet him when I was very young. My uncle took a few of us to his training camp in Deer Lake. He was very kind and nice to us kids. He even play boxed with us (like an adult would with a kid. All jokes and feints). I sometimes joke that I once punched Muhhamad Ali. (so I was 7 or 8, and he probably barely felt it....) Another time, my cousins went out again, and he was doing magic tricks!

Now I'm doubly mad that I lost his autograph in a move 20 years ago.

    Sad day. RIP, Champ.

Thats when boxing was at it's best. So many fighters you could get behind. I haven't even been able to watch boxing since the Tyson era ended. The Holyfield vs Riddick Bowe fights were the last good matches I've ever seen.

Ali was the best. Rest In Peace to boxings greatest legend.

Yeah I couldn't tell you the hours I've spent watching ESPN Classic and any other thing I could find that had classic fights on it. I've seen most of Ali's fights and equally as classic are his interviews with Howard Cosell.

They've been playing his fights all weekend, including the Cosell interviews. Awesome boxing.

I might have watched the Wepner fight as much as I have watched the Thrilla or the Rumble in the Jungle. Bob Sheridan was a great commentator and it was awesome when he knocked out Foreman and Sheridan was like "A DRAMATIC 8TH ROUND KNOCKOUT!"
