It's a great show. A little hard to believe someone that looks like Buscemi could get all those women. Ah, money.

And power. Never forget the power. ;)

(Yes, the 2 go hand in hand often. But not always.)

Ive seen them all so far and this year is definitely better. And you can tell its going to get real violent. Jimmy is about to go off.

The problem with Jimmy is he's not very bright. I don't mean he isn't smart. I mean he doesn't weigh his decisions well, nor consider consequences.

He reminds me of a line from Game of Thrones when Tyrion remarks about his sister, Cersei, "She wants power, but has no idea how to wield it."

Jimmy got all butt hurt last year because he thought Nucky wasn't giving him his due. He's like a typical kid even today: they expect it all right NOW. They refuse to understand that the success the adults they watch have is a result of years of hard work and paying dues. When Nucky was Jimmy's age, he was an underling to Jimmy's Dad. I bet Jimmy's Dad gave Nucky about as much respect at that time. The difference is, Nucky learned all he could from the Commodore. Did his duty. Did what he was told. Worked his way up. Yeah, he screwed the Commodore over eventually to seize his own power, but he got all his ducks in a row first. And he knew what to do when he finally got the power.

Jimmy had no plan other than "Screw over Nucky and rely on Daddy's name to get me what I want."

What purpose did it serve to continually blow off Manny? What purpose did it serve to not pay his debts to Manny? Especially when Manny could have been a great ally? He's reaping what he sowed. Loyalty goes a very long way, and Jimmy has never shown loyalty to anyone except Richard. We'll see how long that lasts.

I mean really? You're going to side with a father you never even knew... who fathered you by RAPING your 12 YEAR OLD mother??? (Who is now nuttier than squirrel turds) Over the one man in your life who actually acted like a father? Really?

I like Jimmy. But some of his actions make zero sense.

Edited to add: And welcome to the boards, Bobby. :drinks:

 I don't know, but something happened for sure. Disturbing. Gave me the creeps even though the mom is hot. Had it been anyone else then: :rockin:

I kinda did. From the moment of the betrayal last year, there was only 2 ways it could end. Neither of them was "and then they made up."

True, but I didn't think they'd kill Jimmy off so quickly.

Plus the whole episode had you believing it was going to work out. He had finally started to take a stand against his mother, killed his dad who manipulated him, and reached out to Nucky by ending the strike by helping Chalky, and killing the key witness to Nuck's trial effectively ending it.

There was some foreshadowing with Jimmy worrying about his son getting his inheritance, but the general feel was that he was going to stick around a while longer and possibly get back into Nuckys good graces.

That mother of his isn't through. If the series goes on long enough, I could see her manipulating her grand kid. He could be a factor seasons down the road...if the series goes that long.

While they slightly changed Nucky JOHNSON's name so they can get around being too strict with the actual history, in the end, BE is the story of Nucky Thompson. I never thought for one second that they'd change history THAT much. ;)

I think it was a big mistake clipping Jimmy, his story line was so much more compelling then the rest IMO. It's funny because the first season I was into Nuckys storyline but then when Jimmy got more and more involved I lost interest in Nucky. The whole thing with him and Margret is becoming nauseating to me. I'll try and see what the next season is like but I hope they ramp it up or I'll probably will be done with it. I do think the whole Capone thing is a cool tidbit, knowing how big he gets, hope they play on that more.

Bumping as Season 3 approaches for Sunday.

When last we saw Agent Van Alden, he was hiding in Cicero...

Which likely means he'll end up working for Al Capone. And we're going to get a lot of Capone this year. :rawk:

Looks like we got a new bad guy to focus on this season, the psycho who killed the guy on the side of the road for no good reason. Wonder if Richard stops with his revenge on Manny or continues to whack others? I think his clipping Manny had more to do with Angela then Jimmy though, so maybe he will stop with Manny and be done with it. Hope they keep him involved though, he's a great hit man.

Anyone watching the new season? I have to admit, I am liking this season more then I thought I would, I thought they made a big mistake knocking off Jimmy. This season has been great so far though, Gyp is a psycho, Richard blowing off Manny's head was great, and Nuckys side girl getting blown up was a shock. Been really good so far.

I just finished binge watching the entire series. Man, what a good show. I was pissed when they offed Jimmy. Glad his mom finally got what was coming to her. I was really hoping Richard would ride off into the sunset, but he had a pretty good run. Looking forward to season 5 next month.

You know this is the last season, right? And I've heard that they're skipping a bunch or years and Fast Forwarding to 1931. Kind of pisses me off. Its like mini series blue balls.

I knew it was the last season, but didn't know they were skipping ahead. I'm a little unhappy about there only being 8 episodes. The first trailer looks good.

Well, I give the season finale a

I'm sure they have been taking liberties with Nuckys character all along but to kill him is too much. Why not kill Capone for that matter, hey its only a show right  And having it be Jimmys kid is just a cheap thrill IMO. So now you've committed that entire family to be a bunch of twisted f--k ups, Tommy was supposed to be the one who makes it and has a normal life, Richard was going to see to that until you killed him, another bad decision IMO. Oh, and you let Charlie, Benny and the other clown live, grrr, didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it :beee:
