Fire Tomlin, Fire Bruce, Fire Ben... hell wake up Art Rooney and fire him too. Come on fans, we win some and lose some. I still have mad respect for Ben, at least he tried and most of us wanted him toplay so stop thinking in hindsite! Go Steelers and screw the Ravens!!

Thank you Slick. We played a tough team on the road and happened to lose. I'm disappointed but it's not the end of the world. I still see us in the AFC championship game as we can handle any AFC team out there. Heck, replay this game 10 times and I bet we win 7/10.

This I agree with. If the team can learn from this and rebound with it to make them stronger for the playoffs and play with intensity, only then say after the first game of the playoffs am I optimistic.

I'd love to believe we'll be playing Baltimore again this year in the AFC game, but until our guys prove themselves in the wildcard, I don't see it.

The difference is the number of people posting while on house arrest and from the prison library is much less for us.

Ahh, not! They don't play well on the road this year. Guess what? They have to travel every game unless the 6th seed wins out as well.

Maybe, but until that is put on the field it doesn't matter.

And I don't remember the last time I saw it put on the field.

Two games left, we'll win both, and Ravens may lose one or both. We have a realistic chance to win the #2 seed. Even if we don't we can handle anything the AFC throws at us. Road game or not. I absolutely do not buy into the Denver hype, and we can take the Ravens. If we have a rematch with the Pats they will give us the most trouble, especially in Gillette Stadium.

I would have benched Ben after the first INT. I knew then we were the 5 seed.
Sit ben and lets get ready to go to the super bowl the hard way. Like we did in 2005

:amen: And why do a lot of people ASSUME we will get the Broncos? Steelers can still finish 2nd or 3rd seed by winning out and a Raisin loss @ Cinci? It's not like it's magic or something? :yeehaw:

Some of us have been saying fire Bruce Arians for four years. He sucks. It's as simple as that. And last nigth's game, the 49ers' offensive showing, has reminded me of just how inept the guy and his scheme is.

The problem is, Arians thinks he has a high-octane passing attack, when he doesn't. He doesn't know the first thing about putting together an explosive offense, but he has Ben convinced he does.

Think what you want - but LAST NIGHT'S game is poor evidence to criticize Bruce Arians. The game plan was SOLID - and the play calling was correct. It was called with obvious attention toward protecting Ben and giving him the chance to succeed despite his injury. Ben is the one that screwed up the game from an offensive standpoint, and he said as much. Without the picks and the fumble, we're in here crowing about a dominant victory last night. He blew it. He knew it. I'm no Arians fan, but use other evidence because this game does not work.

md: I am not necessarily laying blame for last night's game on Arians. What I saw in last night's game, that has me so hot under the collar, was execution from an inferior offense against our D. It was yet another eye opener. I was stunned at how well that 49ers offense was able to move the ball and there were three or four plays, perfectly designed and perfectly executed, that made me jealous. And I am left to think, "Why can't our offense operate like THAT?" It's one thing to wish we had plays and play calling to rival the Packers, Saints, or Patriots. But when I am envious of what the 49ers can do on offense, than it's an ever bigger sign that Arians sucks.

    :bscow:

The 49ers had 10 drives. Four of them were 25 or more yards.

The Steelers had 10 drives. 6 of them were 25 or more yards.

The 49ers had 3 drives of 7 plays or longer. The Steelers had 6.

The Steelers D gives up an average of 277 yards per game. The 49ers bested that by 10 yards.

The 49ers D gives up an average of 311 yards per game. The Steelers bested that by 78 yards.

It was actually the STEELERS offense who had better success at moving the ball against a top 5 D (lets not overlook that little tid-bit). And its not even close.

    The difference? Two things.

Most obvious, the 3 turnovers that the 9ers converted into 13 points.

And secondly, lost in the discussion, is the field position. The Steelers average starting position was their own 15 which they commented was THE WORST starting field position in an NFL game since 2002.

I fail to see how any of this is Arians fault.

Unfortunately others do see how it's his fault but they're looking at it with their eyes wide SHUT. BA certainly has his faults but he wasn't the problem last night. I don't give a chit who's calling plays or what kind of offense you're running. If you turn the ball over 4 times against a decent team more often than not you're gonna get your ass kicked and that's exactly what happened.

    1. Screen pass to Hunter. Perfectly executed: linemen were drawn in, throw over the top, 27-yard gain on a 2nd and 11. Thing of beauty. Haven't seen the Steelers run or execute= that play since Arians arrived.

    2. Counter pass to Vernon Davis. Wide open. Fooled the entire Steeler defense. 21 yards, almost a TD.

    3. 1st and goal. 3 yard line. Play action fooled everyone including the camera crew. Davis was wide open in the EZ.

My point: All three plays came on the same drive. My jaw dropped. Why? because I have rarely if ever seen the Steelers' offense click like that. For the 100th time, I am not talking about blame. I am talking about the light bulb goiong off in my head. Forget last night's performance; Ben was injured, it wasn't a good night. I'm talking ALL SEASON! As we know, the Steelers get a 1st and goal and can't do squat. The 49ers OC, Greg Roman, schooled Arians on how to run an offense, especially at the goal line.

Brilliant Post BobbyBiz, I would only add that is seems some fans on this board only remember the plays that went wrong for the Steelers and plays that went right for their opponents.

A solid O-Line would make BA look like a genius.
