I thought it was a FA in 2015....now I like it even more....12 mill over 3 years? YES!!!

We all know its not the way the Steelers have done things...but with the new trade deadline....Its fun to hope they change as well.

Kind of makes you wonder what ol' Rooney says in these meetings...

"Hey Art, whats your thoughts on changing the trade deadline week?"

What i dont understand is why even have him practice this week why not wait until next week giving him another full week off. That was a bad call imo

I'll have to dig out my old post: the Steelers needed to trade Harrison last year, after the Men's Journal article came out. Harrison embarrassed himself and the organization and, tbh, didn't really have a great 2010 season prior to that. I knew at the time he was on the downslope, could see it.

The Steelers didn't see it and are now paying the price.

 

Shawn Merriman is sitting out there. Perhaps he is finished. Nobody's giving him a call--not even the Patriots, who seem to always call in someone off the trash heap. That said, wouldn't it be worth the Steelers while to at least take a look at the guy?

Hightower doesn't play the same position as Harrison he plays ILB so the answer is no also when was the last time a defensive rookie started for the Steelers.

 

One of my best friends is a DIE HARD Chargers fan and he says Merriman is done. Therefore it must be true. I really hate that too because during his heyday with the Bolts I always liked him. But if the Bills cut you it's pretty bad. Also Merriman is a personal drama machine too and we don't need that either.

 

Yeah I know but our linebackers appear weak all the way around so atleast we would've had a start on revamping this disgrace of a D we have.

 

When have the steelers ever traded for a single player let alone multiple players? It's not going to happen. Even if we did bring some one in, the complexity of DL defense he won't make much difference. We will have to bare with Worlds and Carter this season and hope we get an OLB in the draft.

 

I think the last player they traded for was bettis but i could be way off.

 

So 16 years? Seems like its time for another one.

This position needs to be our #1 round pick (assuming a OLB of value is available). I think Worilds has shown he isn't much more then a good backup

 

I am not a medical doctor and don't know why Silverback's
knee won't heal, especially after what they termed it a minor injury/clean out?
Why aren't people asking these questions? Why is the knee not responding?
His lost time last year was NOT due to a knee injury, but to an orbital
eye socket injury. This is a man that takes care of his body, for his age he is
one of the most conditioned athlete in the game today.
If he did not get held on most every play he would be a league leader in sacks
almost every year. Yes he is slowing down and will probably only be here until
the end of his contract. And yes I have little faith in the current Steelers LB corp in general.
We will have to address what type of defense we want to run as to how the Steelers will draft
or thru FA. I am not sure of the Steelers plan for thier defense? The players in
place do NOT impress me too much for a 3-4 defense. The only player that did impress me on defense
is out with a blown knee. Why isn't Cam Heyward/Ziggy Hood making an impact? How much longer
can they stay with Kiesel? What has he done to warrant playing time? Why isn't Mcclendon playing?
Why isn't Tamu getting some reps? Why isn't Curtis Brown getting some reps? Why isn't Golden getting some reps?

 

Dude I've been saying forever that Cam in non existent. They can send him to Baltimore for all I care. I'm not intimidated by him. As a matter of fact I wish they WOULD send a lot of the stooges to Baltimore so we could be the lone threat of our division. lol.

From what I'm reading the defense has gotten pretty predictible. Carson Palmer apparently knew what we going to do. Can't be too hard to learn.

I would love to see Robinson gets some snaps as well, but he isn't on the practice squad. He may be a one trick pony, but when you need sacks and pressure and the guy you have who typically does that...Harrison...is out, sometimes you turn to the one trick pony.
