Seems like a "need" draft. I think I'd be fine with Gilbert in the first, but the rest of the guys I haven't heard of yet. Unless they can blitz and also stuff the run, I don't see a lot of value for the shutdown corner anymore in the newfangled NFL. Best way to stop the pass is to disrupt the QB, not prevent the WR's from getting open. But Gilbert may be able to contribute in other areas so he would be a decent pick.

I think it is a little bit of both. If you have a guy like Revis or Sherman who can eliminate 1 guy, the main guy, you can scheme to cover everyone else or at least limit them. In addition, it makes the blitz more of an option because you aren't as exposed when you put a guy out there on the island.

If we get Deanthony Thomas in round 5 I will be ecstatic. Gilbert would be an alright pick in the first, and Buchanon and Carrethers are nice players. Idk why they have us taking WR so late and no TE, but I wouldn't be too upset if the first 5 rounds went the way this mock has it.

I'd accept this draft. De'Anthony Thomas would be that immediate replacement for the Felix Jones/LSH/Chris Rainey type. Fast enough to get the corner, dangerous receiving out of the backfield.
    Justin Gilbert can ball.
