And our defense still couldn't deliver a win.

I'm going on record now. This is the worst defensive performance in Steelers post season history!

The pats don't overlook their opponents, the Steelers do. Hence, the Steelers are more arrogant. The Pats don't take you for granted, the Steelers do repeatedly. That's the difference. It ain't bragging if you can deliver. And when was the last time you heard a Pat do what Mitchell (a fading player) did today?

    CLear enough?

I was going to post this somewhere, and here seems as good as anywhere.

For me, the three key headscratchers were:

1 - The first 4th and 1, when we went with the sweep. It was an awful call, and had very low probability of success.

2 - The playaction pass to Juju on 4th down. Not the call, but the fact that the refs missed blatant holding. We were down by 7 then. I'm sure we still would have given up a million points, but it's a different game if we convert that.

3 - The on-side kick. I couldn't make sense of that, and it effectively put the game out of reach.

I can't be bothered to get into the blame game tonight. There's literally too much to go around... players, coaches, refs, all of 'em.

I have watched every Steeler post season game since the 60's and I can definitely say this was the worst defensive performance in Post season since then.

You do know his 2 turnovers led to Jags getting 14 points.

You do know we scored 42 points. You must be one of those guys that think we are going to be okay with Landry Jones as our QB. You do know we had some stupid play calling on 4 and 1. You do know that we shouldn't kick that onside kick with the time we had left. You do know that our secondary stinks. You do know we should of played our starters at least a half game against Cleveland, so that we wouldn't be so rusty. You do know we should of played Harrison some against running teams. You do know Gay shouldn't play a single play next, along with Mitchell. You do know we could of done better then Spence at MLB as he was killing us in the middle. You do know that Carnell Lake, Porter should be fired tomorrow.

I wasn't blaming the loss on Ben, the blame goes on the no show defense.

    random stuff....

saw Hubbard in there at the end of the game and no Gilbert, didn't see when Gilbert went out..injured?

even if Big Ben and the starters played a half or so vs the Browns, we would still have had a week off. So I'm not getting the Clev. game part of the "rust" argument. We were rusty after a week off for the bye. so the wildcard round would have been a week too. Clearly there is some rust this year. Cleveland game doesn't have a lot of bearing, unless you want to say..."well, they were extra rusty" :lolol:

a lot of wide open spaces for Yeldon on dump off passes. Seemed like guys were 10-15 yards away. if someone has all 22 id be interested in what they see. not picked up by lber or CB too far downfield?

What is lost in this debacle is the fact that once again even with everything that went wrong we still had a chance but the refs jobbed us again.....constantl grabbing all day by their DBs and blatant PIs on JUJU that would of gave us a first down with a chance to tie and the over the back against Bryant.....you don't just miss those you just choose not to call them....sad.

No disrespect to anyone on this site, but I keep reading about all the coaching failures, etc. and then the disclaimer: I like/love Tomlin, but....

I am going on record - I don't dislike Tomlin as a person, however, he leaves a bit to be desired as a top tier motivating, prepared coach.

Mike Tomlin is a very confident coach. For most part he knows how to rally his troops. And lets not forget that 2 out of Tomlin's first 4 years as a head coach, he went to two Super Bowls, and won a ring in his first Super Bowl. He has pros and cons.
