OMG! Guys from what the screeners are saying this thing is awesome!

    I'm just hoping it's not just another chase/explosion romp of a re-imagining....

I'm possibly the only person on the plane to have never seen the original.

Still, I might have to bone up on it to go see this one. I'd watch Ana De Armas eat a bowl of cereal for 2 hours. ;)

I thought that same thing about myself the other day. :lolol:

I see the trailer for the new one, and I hear the lyrics for Build Me a Woman by the Doors in my head. :D

I saw the original, it was so long ago I honestly remember very little of it. Its not a movie Ive seen multiple times.

I'll check out this one though.

Looking forward to this very much. Also looking forward to see if there will be any more hints at tying Blade Runner and the Alien movies together.

I watched the original, thought it was okay, but that was many years ago. I never thought it was classic enough to warrant a remake, but what do I know? I generally tend to think remakes are terrible. Longest Yard with Sandler was terrible. The first remake of The Thing with Kurt Russell was brilliant. The one in 2011 stunk. Thomas Crowne Affair 1999 with Brosnan and Russo was meh. Pierce Brosnan ain't no Steve McQueen. Remakes of Straw Dogs, Arthur, Poltergeist and, most blasphemous of all, Psycho, all stunk on ice.

My boy at work told me it is a remake. #@+&$_&. I should know better than to listen to him by now. He swore I'd love Law Abiding Citizen, and I thought it was ridiculous.

Yup, a clear sequel set 30 years after the first one.

First one still holds up as far as most of the visuals they used. (Minus the sound effects and the ever present plate glass window breaking in 80's films)

I love it and have all versions. I'm a sucker for dystopian future stuff though.

I'm that slow play 80's sci-fi type though. Also, looking forward to the Fahrenheit 451 that HBO is doing. Love the novel and I loved the "text" game they made. (Played on a commodore 64) I spent a lot of time looking up exact quotes at the library.
