I don't think Ben is getting into HOF next year. I'm not getting my hopes up. I think Brady is eligible in '28... he will get in before Ben. Probably Eli, too. Brady will get in quickly because he's got 7... Eli will get in because of his name.

yes.. while I think Ben should get in I could see his off field issues being a reason for not making it first year.

Billicheat not getting in is some Pete Rose type sh!t.

    Sports writers are petty AF.

Listening to them talk about Baseball HOF voting is sickening... it is like they all have a God Complex.

That's true, but I get it when it comes to cheating.

There's a huge difference between not liking a player or coach and not voting for them for the HOF, compared to keeping cheaters out that put up numbers that others couldn't because of the cheating.

When people cheat at the game and are allowed to get away with it, not only are they making themselves much better. They make a ton of money off of the cheating, plus they are lessening the amount that their competitors get paid because of false performance, and denying other players and coaches from making the HOF that were just outside of the required voting because of the false numbers they put up that skew the arguments and create inflated standards to get in.

It is true that Mannings and Brees' records and stats in dome conditions vs outside is something that goes against them. I myself am not disputing that. What I am disputing is that whether or not they were dominant as a whole.

As is the case, Players dont have the right to decide where they want to be drafted. Manning was going to Indy or San Diego given his talents and Drew Brees' did win CPOY in San Diego before his potential career ending injury.

In short?! Players must be judged based in the manner in which they perform. Where they do so and how they do so is laregly irrelevant.

Yeah but, scandals aside, the baseball writers will specifically say that a player doesn't "DESERVE" to be first a ballot HOF'r and make him wait. It is BS in my book.

If Eli gets in before Ben, I'm officially done with the HoF.

If Steelers had won SBXLV, Ben would be a lock for first ballot. Losing that game, sealed his fate. Unfortunately, Steelers would never have a team that good again, for the remainder of his career... so Super Bowls were a pipe dream because of Patriots from '11 to '18 and Chiefs from '19-'21. He'll get in... but it may be until 2030 at the earliest.

I was done with the HOF long before the Bill Belichick nonsense. For me, Jerry Kramer waiting basically since time immemorial was unacceptable. Why?!

Up until his retirement, he was the only player from the NFLs 50th Anniversary Team not inducted; a list that has many players that one can argue are on the Mt. Rushmore of their position. Everyone else is in. He wasnt prior to him being voted in.

As I saw it, that was both negligence and disrespect.

    This.

If a QB doesnt have the individual accomplishments, dude better have won a lot of Rings. Big Ben only has two. Even worse, he played the worst ever in his first while the second was due to the greatest catch in Super Bowl history.

Not very convincing arguments to get him in.

Ben likely won't get in on his first year of eligibility. I'd bet the amount of $$$ I paid for my most expensive bass that he does not get in next year.

Ben won't be inducted in '28 either... because that will be the Tom Brady show.

    I agree, its a judgement by awards and statistics. However, just my opinion, i know its not the way it is;

We may look at statistics as a measure but that doesn't necessarily mean better. I think Ben and Brees and the other are in the same statistical ballpark where a good judge (in a less bureaucratic world) has to look at what each had to work with, how they handle pressure, basically watch their whole body of work, etc…do the judges do that? Ben was a tougher Qb than most of his contemporaries. Terry stats wise is below a number of his contemporaries but we know who the best Qb’s really are.
