The bottom line is we need somebody who can cover Gronk. That is the difference between maybe Super Bowl or no Super Bowl.

Besides, we need a Shazier replacement anyway, so I want the best cover LB in the draft.

Here is day two free safety prospects:

    • DeShon Elliott*, S, Texas
      Height: 6-2. Weight: 210.
      Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
      Projected Round (2018): 2-3.
1/22/18: Elliott enjoyed a breakout 2017 season and was one of the nation's leaders in interceptions with six. The junior also had 63 tackles and three passes broken up. After announcing he would enter the 2018 NFL Draft, Elliott sat out Texas' bowl game.

Elliott has NFL size with good instincts. He fits as a free safety for the pro game, and sources have told me that they've given him a second-day grade. They say that Elliott lacks elite athletic ability and the speed to be a first-round pick, but he makes plays in coverage and is a willing participant against the run. It would have been hard for Elliott to duplicate his production if he had returned for his senior year, so it was in his interest to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft - like he did.

    Terrell Edmunds*, S, Virginia Tech
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 220.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
    Projected Round (2018): 2-3.
1/22/18: Edmunds hasn't gotten as much attention as his brother Tremaine Edmunds, but NFL sources have told WalterFootball.com that Terrell Edmunds has really impressed them as well. Edmunds has good size to be an NFL safety and has shown coverage skills the past few seasons. Edmunds played well in 2017 with 59 tackles, two interceptions and four passes broken up. As a sophomore, he totaled 89 tackles, four interceptions and three passes broken up. Sources say they see Terrell Edmunds grading out as a second-day prospect for the 2018 NFL Draft

Haven’t watched either play, but the write up sounds about right. I would love to go ILB and FS in the first two rounds. That is after we sign Bell

We haven't seen their 40 times at the combine yet, players train for the 40 before they run it, those are projected times we are looking at now, it all depends on how fast or slow they can run it on pro day......
