imho, the biggest key here is mike Mitchell... their receivers are just to big for our corners to handle and I just don't want to think about jimmy graham...

in match up nightmares like this, the fs over the top has to make the right read and make the open tackle....

note to Mitchell: this is why you were signed.... time to go out there and actually earn your money

How many of Brees' TD's today had no safety help? We have two of them on the field, and they are nowhere to be found. It is time for Troy P to play his position. Thus, less ground for Mitchell to have to make up. But as a unit, our safeties are no help.

:this!: This has been like this for a couple of years now. I love Troy, but this defense now plays better without him because the use Allen like a true safety over the top. We hardly never have safeties in the right position on the deep passes. I have no idea were 23 is most of the time.

When the front 7 can't handle the run then safeties (especially Troy) will close in on the box to be ready to help limit the opponents rushing efficiency.

I don't know if that's the reason that happened so much yesterday, but I think that's why play action works so well, in general.

Dude there was a play where Ingram ran off the left side and when he came out of the hole there was literally no one there. I don't even think it was a play action play either. It just had to be one of those times where guys were totally out of position. I noticed it on a highlight (or lowlight) show last night.
