Biggest draft miss since Marino?

You are not the only one I've seen assume that Banner will be gone. I'm just not sure the market for him is going to be that big. The guy has two career starts. One was the opener this season, the one he didn't finish due to a season-ending torn ACL. It seems like the Steelers might be able to re-sign him to a relatively cheap contract. Offensive line should still be a priority. I'm not sold on either tackle long term.

 

Certainly true in the recent past. Sutton worked out ok, albeit he took some time, and they have developed Hilton well even though I know he was not drafted.

I don’t think they should give up trying. After QB I’d say it’s probably the hardest job on the field and the hardest position group to draft, every team probably thinks they have bad luck there to some degree.

 

The Edmunds pick wasn't great but it was not as bad as the terrible Jarvis Jones pick.

 

I blame Shula for that. He never built a defense to aid Danny.

 

Please tell me why you think he is a viable starting Corner, I haven't seen anything to suggest that. Has the size and speed but nothing else so far.

 

Jarvis and burns were really bad bad picks.

Good call on Burns, but Jones was at least a highly rated prospect who just busted out. It happens.

Burns and Edmunds were terrible reaches. Tomlin should not be allowed to draft DBs ever again.

 

As I said, he needs time. For me, he has been a mixed bag in terms of his overall performance this season. That said, he has had more ups than downs.

 

Marion is easily the biggest draft miss of all time of the Pittsburgh Steelers. With those 90`s defenses at least 2-3 more titles. Plus he was right in front of their noses, maybe a little too close. Franchise changing player of a decade.

 

Jones had so many red flags though. The signs were all there. The Steelers chose to take a huge amount of risk with that pick.

Nobody had Leonard going in the first round, get out of here with nonsense.

 

Plenty of people did, and just about everyone had him rated well ahead of Edmunds. The Steelers passed on an All-Pro at a position of need to reach fir a guy they had a shot at taking in the second round.

 

I didn't see one person that had Leonard going in the first round, just like nobody had Edmunds going in the first round, you were pimping Leonard after the fact.

I'm sure a lot of us do. That's the thing. He wasn't big enough, wasn't strong enough and wasn't all that good at rushing the passer. On top of that, he had known back issues. He also didn't really have the body type to allow him to put on size/muscle. That pick had little hope of working out.

Edmunds could be another Dupree.

 

Troy Edwards over Jevon Kearse was bad too. Kearse could have played both 3-4 DE and OLB in Steelers system.

Agree with alot of what U say, but No, Never ever L. Jackson...Also don't want 2 hear I'm prejudice..has nothing 2 do with anything but ....I hate run 1st throw 2nd QBs. White , or any color. Heck they cant even get free agents Wrs. Dont believe it look it up. Why U think they had 2 get (old man nobody wants) Dez. No Wrs want 2 block more than they catch. Especially Free agents.
