1 Canada's offense he has thoroughbreds and he has them pulling plows. To those that miss seeing Austin play I wonder how fast he could run a 2 yd out.

2 Najee Harris for all the talk of his massive thighs I thought we would see a sleek new bus , not a dancing fool. Being outplayed by an undrafted rookie should be embarrassing. Some small glimpses of effort recently.

3 The defense and its my own unrealistic expectations . I thought Alualu was coming back to be the rock in the middle and be the fix for the run defense. Watt being injured hurts but I didn t expect it to be a near total disaster.

4 They are so bad there is more than 3 . The coaching, drafting and an apparent lack of a plan on how to build a team. The game is won and lost on the LOS on both offense and defense .
They have put together a makeshift offensive line with that can't run block and the defensive line is almost as bad. Having to use Heyward as a NT shows how flawed there plan has been.

Did you see tee Higgins TD grab over greedy Williams last night? He’s 6’5” with long arms and just took it out of the air over Williams. that’s what we were hoping claypool would be . A disappointment.

Team captain means nothing, he's just a guy that goes out for the coin toss.

I had the same thought about it being an ugly week for Pittsburgh sports. You could even throw in Penn State losing because there are so many Penn State alumni in Western PA. Of course, there is that divide among Pittsburgh sports fans, that they like Pitt or Penn State, but not both.

I wish I could agree with your last point. I am a lifelong fan of the Steelers, Penguins, and Panthers. I haven't really been a Pirates fan for a long time and I will not return as long as Bob Nutting owns the team.

The division isn't great, but I think the Ravens will pull away. They were already getting healthy on defense and adding Smith makes them a lot stronger.

At what point are you two going to realize you are talking about two different things. You posted about Harris. In the very next post, FootballPlagiarist wrote about the first-round draft pick. I get that you thought he meant Harris, but he was going off on another of his attacks on Pickett.

I believe my biggest disappointment originated several years ago and I was hoping that we could persevere through it without having the kind of year we are having so far. It's like putting together building blocks over many years to failure including:

years of poor drafts and talent acquisition/ retention
years of not investing in the proper positions of need
years of cap strangulation with Ben/ management of
Years of poor hiring/ retention of coaching
    Losing Ben. Fuse lit.
    Boom.

It's not unusual for teams to have bad seasons during which there are changes made to correct, rebuild, reinvent, and so on. We are where we are not because of a single event or year or whatever. This has been building for some time so it's not that surprising. I guess my biggest disappointment is our time may have run out. JMO>

This post made me realize: each play, each game, I’m irrevocably a Steelers fan…but it’s against a background of feeling they aren’t really serious contenders. That’s my biggest disappointment of 2022.

I knew it would be a down year that’s no big deal. Biggest disappointment is there’s nothing really to build on for next year. Steelers are bad at everything.

Najee Harris biggest disappointment thus far

I know they line isn't fantastic but its probably better than last year.

I don't think I yelled at my TV that much in 20 years as I did Sunday when he danced and didn't pick up the 1st down on that 3rd and 2 play.

Luckily he did pick it up on 4th down.

Guy just needs to hit the hole and go, stop waiting for development this isn't a skilled level of line that is going to get you any development.

A lot of fans compare the current Steelers to the 80's teams. Those were the days of my youth and I kept track of every play of every Steelers game I could on paper. I enjoyed many aspects of those seasons, and I always had hope.

They should specify which part of the 80's. We made the Playoffs I believe 4-5 times in the 80's. Sucked in Playoffs then as we do now. It was the middle 80's where we had a rough time of it.

I always remember the 69 season. Never had a 1-13 team given Pittsburgh fans such hope. You could see that Joe Greene was going to change the face of this franchise.

The Watt injury was a blessing in a way. It should allow GM and HC (I have little faith in HC abilities at this point) to see all the weaknesses that Watt covered up. I hope the GM and assistants are seeing this and ready to jettison a few weak links and are currently assessing potential FA's and draft eligible college players that would improve the worst positions.

The other benefit, sadly, is we'd probably limp to 6 or 7 wins with Watt and be drafting like 15th or something. If stupid Tom Brady had done his job, we'd be sitting with the #1 pick. Now that Watt is near returning, he'll probably turn a probable loss into a win, so I don't see us drafting top 5 sadly. I hope we get top 5, we desperately need it. If the new GM sees a player he wants and can trade back to pick up another 2nd or 3rd and maybe a 5th, cool, do it. But we need multiple impact, day 1 starting talents that is 20/21 years old.

i think again this season was changed dramatically by injuries. TJ and kazee injuries could have made this a much different season so far. the offense was going to be young either way so kenny should have been on the field to start with. austin would have made some difference as well. again that stinking injury bug hurt us.

I love how you (and others) assume Tomlin is the one or the only one set in their ways. I believe it was Rooney who said a couple of years ago about getting back to "old school" Steelers football. Which frankly isn't really adapting to the modern NFL.
