At the risk of going around in circles with this argument, didn't those two picks cost us those two games? Crucial interceptions at critical times in the game. We win those two games we're 10-6. 10-6 gets us into the playoffs, right?

    Ben's rushing attempts ...
    Year Attempts
    2004 ... 56
    2005 ... 31
    2006 ... 32
    2007 ... 35
    2008 ... 34
    2009 ... 40
    2010 ... 34
    2011 ... 31
    2012 ... 26
2013 ..... 4 after 4 games, which would extrapolate into 16 at years end.

Nah you guys are right, the coaches probably haven't seen anything change in Ben's game and a few of us here are just imagining things.

So our coaching staff is clairvoyant now? Saw those 4 attempts after 4 games and said shoot, better draft Landry. Got it.

No he doesn't play defense but, he keeps them on the field by throwing picks and fumbling

It is in "Ben years", probably around 40 for most folks given his accident, injuries, etc. :???:

I'm just waiting for someone to start a "hypothetical trade thread" involving Ben and Eli. :roflmao:

We have to go back to the the playoff debacle in Denver, We haven't been the same team
since we got TEBOWED.Imagine that, beat by a guy who is out of league. You have got to beat the teams you are suppose to beat. Why are the Patriots always in the playoffs. They play with no names but just keep on winning.WHY? C'mon all you TOMLIN lovers lets hear your story.

Agree. Weren't we 12-4 that year going into that Denver game? The last 3 or 4 years, I felt uncomfortable with our offense, no consistency and had no confidence in it. Also, how many freaking times did we have a 3rd and 4 where all Ben had to do was lumber for the first down, where no defender is with in 10 yards of him, and slide to get the first down and keep the drive alive? Its like he is stubborn or gun shy I don't know which. How do the Pats do it? They lose or get rid of all there weapons on offense yet don't miss a beat. A bad season for them would be ten wins. Ben is a good QB but he is not elite. The only "elite" QB's I can think of now in the league is Peyton, Brady, Rodgers and Brees. Did I miss anyone?

Kind of hard to run the ball when you're not even on the field?

You're right, so 2010's 34 should be higher too (closer to the 40 in 2009), since Ben missed 4 games that year. Last I checked, Ben played all 4 games so far this year; why the ~50% decrease in rushing attempts & fewer sideline scrambles?

I just hope if this season really starts to go in the toilet that they protect Ben at all costs and save him for future years.

If he starts taking too many shots in a game they should pull him. Or at least call all running plays or whatever.

The line is swiss cheese please don't let Ben suffer even worse injuries.

There were a number of opporunities for him to run the ball himself and pick up two-three yards and he held onto the ball. There is something different about Bens game for sure

Haley was brought in in part to help reduce the amount of hits Ben takes, stands to reason Ben is going to look to pass more before running.

Incidentally horse collaring QB while in pocket is legal. Not sure why but it is. Even Ben said so himself in the interview the refs had it right.

Everyone blaming Ben. Meanwhile you have a front line that can't block a training sled. When you just have a second or two before you have to start running around for your life while trying to look down field it a tall task! Ben in previous years would break a tackle or two and scramblke to his left or right while the recievers worked their way open. Now he's in the middle of a mob.

Well thats just dumb but my point was he was stepping up and most likely would have gotten rid of it before that guy shot his arm out and got him by the collar, a lot of luck on their part I think. When the pocket collapses that fast, it's harder then most think to just get rid of it.

On a side note, horse collar was legal but I'm fairly certain the 2 arm clubbing of Bens head wasn't.

I wonder why no "designed roll-outs" then?

BTW, I am concerned for Ben; my blame is directed at Tomlin/Colbert for the O-line personnel decisions and at Tomlin for hiring the new O-line coach.

I wonder how many turnovers Ben has in these games which is a big reason why he's 1-7.
