    :this!:

This! He's playing his ass off and he's right there on a lot of those throws. He just can't out reach those 6"2' 6"3' physical receivers.

You can't put Blake on the corners with the tall boys, isn't fair to the guy, he would be better inside where the little receivers are, your Wes Walkers, Sanders etc, so he can take their heads off

How did he get called for taunting yesterday? Can you positively taunt a team-mate?

Well AJ stopped catching passes when Blake replaced Ike. Right?

Revis is 5-11 198, Gay is 5-10 190, that's about average for corners, revis handles tall receivers, thats why the vertical jump is a big deal when evaluating corners at the combine, maybe Gay is below average in the vertical and that could be his problem against tall receivers, revis is tall when it comes to him jumping up with the tall receivers....

You are exactly right the vertical is huge . I would also add timing and the ability to read the eyes of the WR . A great CB also has explosive recovery speed . Is why people talk about Sherman and say look at his 40 time he is not that fast . Well that is not his true CB speed . He has the best recovery speed in the NFL he has the best route recognition and ability to read the WR'S eyes , he uses that to almost always be in a position to make a play on the ball.It takes a perfect throw to beat him.

Gay simply is not of that caliber . He is solid , but he lacks the ability to read a top notch WR , he lacks true closing speed and he doesn't posses vertical explosion . Is why he needs to be at the # 3 inside where the back shoulder , the fade , and Flag routes are used often . These types of routes expose a CB esp. against bigger, stronger, and faster WR'S ......I

In 1974. Remember it like it was yesterday, lol.

Seriously, Gay has some ball skills and he knows what to do once he has the ball in his hands. I think Lake has helped him a great deal and it's really showing. Glad we re-signed him!

I like Gay and this is not meant to be a downer. Big play Will Gay is true, it's the little things that he is not good at. I'm watching the KC game again and Gay is getting easily blocked in run support. Repeatedly. Kind of like Deon. Although, at the same time, he had some very good open field tackles in run support. He also is the one who gave up the fake field goal for a first down.

Well to be honest they guy did get the first down, but Gay was the only guy out there that had a chance at getting to him and he did. He did well not getting sucked up in the block and taken out of the play. They did hold them to a field goal ultimately on that drive, so it's kind of not a big deal.
