The larger point was that the Steelers broke away from their normal SOP and signed a bunch of old guys (3rd or 4th contracts) rather than up and comers looking for a second contract. This was clearly intentional, for whatever reason.

Down year ? move up and get Emeka ..We went into the season with no #1 WR.. AR did miracles with the talent he had by far the worst WR group I have ever seen..The scrub RB pick would have got us to Emaka IMO..Dont do that crap this draft get Quality ..Our high priced Defense hasn't stopped anyone in years in the post season ..Heck we even let Tebow throw for like 500 yards..

Change the entire approach and lets start trying to actually score ...I dont really care who we get as HC as long as they decide it's a scoring league and you need multiple weapons in the WR room, we almost have 1 .

Why in the world would you draft an iffy rookie WR to play with Aaron Rodgers? Rodgers has NEVER played well with rookie and early career WRs. He has spent the majority of his professional career NOT throwing the ball to them.

For me, I suspect Roman Wilson is not very good. HOWEVER...there are really smart football people out there who can put together film cut-ups of Wilson running good routes, creating separation, and all the things you would hope for in a young WR and just not getting the ball.

If the Steelers had drafted rookie WR....they would have spent the season wandering around the field waiting for Rodgers to throw them the ball.

Plus TWO rookie WRs in the entire class caught over 50 balls. Trading up to get a WR instead of sitting back and taking the DL drawn up in lab to play in your defense? That seems like a suspect line of thinking....

My guys are not iffy they will make an immediate impact ..Emeka was crisp and pro ready so are my 2, is why you have to pay up if you want real talent ...

Roman is a bust he will be out of the NFL in 2 seasons..I didnt like his college tape and his NFL tape looks worse ..

IMO my 2 guys are actually better than Emeka , but is why I say go for both if you hit on both bam you are a top contender for years , if you hit on 1 then we will be way better than we was last year..Heck at 52 I am as good as Roman..lol

Who is throwing to these amazing WRs in this scenario?

The Vikings just had Addison and Jefferson do basically nothing at WR because their rotating cast of terrible at QB couldn't get them the ball. We all watched Pickens struggle to impact because Kenny Pickett couldn't get him the ball.

You can have all the WRs in the world, but if you don't have the trigger man, so what?

This was my hope with both McCarthy and Flores.

I don't really want either of them at HC. But I think they would both be really good coordinators for a young HC. Particularly Flores, who could hopefully serve as something like this generation's LeBeau.

Pelissero makes a good argument for him but I just think you need to go in a new direction. Get a young innovative coach in here and start fresh.

McCarthy just feels like continuing the Tomlin path.

I forgot that he is considered a QB guru though, that is a big part of why they are considering him. Whether it’s Howard or a draft pick, he would be good for developing the next QB.
