I have not seen this posted on our Board. Ben has a broken left index finger. Tomlin is optimistic about Ben playing. This is on STEELERS home page.

I think Mason Rudolph stepped on it and was rumored to say, "move over old man, it's my turn" as he walked away.

It will affect Ben's handling of snaps. Hopefully he is ready for it.

This means practice ... practice .... practice!! Timing, getting ball out of hand quickly, handoffs, snaps ... etc
This may be a blessing in disguise

It won't just be an issue on snaps. Handoffs could also be tricky. This will cause some problems. I'm guessing it could also interfere with his reads at the snap. A jolt of pain every time he receives the ball surely won't be a positive.

He injured it in the 2nd qtr, didn't seem to affect him. I don't see it being a problem.

Curious how this could be a blessing in disguise?

It’s not. If anything he’ll practiced less because of it.

I doubt he'll feel any pain in his finger with the shot he'll get before the game.

If its a problem then we have backups for a reason. Turds haven't game planned for Dobbs so it may be interesting. And if we lose we have excuses, broken finger, a qb that has never started, #1 D...

That level of numbness would be an issue, too.

I do love how people delude themselves. Dobbs hasn't played a meaningful snap in an NFL game, but hey, he sure looked great against a bunch of third-stringers and guys who are currently unemployed!

There is absolutely no way that having him on the field Sunday would be an advantage.

Not sure I understand this reasoning at all. Start Dobbs, so that we have an excuse in case we lose? Huh?

Did somebody punch Ben in the nose? Tape it to the one next to it, He'll be fine, or...…….He could go all Ronnie Lott!

If he can't play, I'm sure people will have a wake up call real quick in seeing that Mason Rudolph and Josh Dobbs are not going to perform as they are thinking.

I'm hope to be wrong, but that is the reality.

If he hurt it during the last game, he should be ok. If not, we'll get a chance to see the backups in action.

Of coarse Suggs knows it's broken and he will have a nice little target right about where the knuckle sits on the splint. That's just how he plays. We'll probably see him blitz from the right more than usual. Villanueva will have to be on his game this week.

Does anyone actually think the backups would do better than Ben? I certainly don't.

Ben mentions a minor injury that affects his play slightly, and some fans complain that he is a drama queen.
The Steelers mention him having a minor injury, which Ben plays through without problem, and some fans start freaking out.
    :hmm:
