You want the problems fixed? You want them to give everything they got? You want them to concentrate more? Simply change the contracts to be merit based. Pay for performance. Fumbles will cost 40K. Int's will cost 40K. Missed blocks will cost 10K. Dropped TD's will cost 75K. Penalties will cost ya based on severity and situation anywhere between 5K and 25K. Missed FG's depends on length and weather conditions between 5K and 15K. Poor coaching 25K to 75K.

Hit these guys in the wallet and I bet you won't see the crap displayed yesterday.

Hmmm...interesting. I like it actually. I mean if you cant get up for a game with everything riding on it, in front of you own fans, maybe a thinner wallet will get their attention.

So you want to give them bonuses if they have a 100 yard game with a touchdown, or throw for 400 yards with 3 td's and no picks?

    Yep.

I bet if their paychecks were based on performance you would see a heck of a lot more concentration. Put it all in a kitty. Wallace drops a TD costs him 75 K and if Ben Throws 3 TD's you hand it over to him. Seeing how much Wallace believes he is worth the biggest of almighty dollars I'd be willing to bet that he would find his game real quick.

Yeah - unfortunately, the CBA frowns on this. While some contracts are incentive-laden - the NFLPA won't accept the idea that all players be paid according to their performance. They want the money - up-front - with no strings attached.
