Hoping he's getting good news at the hospital right now.

    Praying for you Shazier.

Indeed. Sometimes we forget that there's more to life than football.

I really hope this isn't as bad as it looked. I don't care if he retires healthy tomorrow. I just hope this kid is OK.

Apparently he's got no feeling in his lower body.

Come on guys, this thread needs to be longer than just six responses. Life is much more important than football. I pray that Shazier recovers fully, even if he doesn't play another down in football.

I'm not sure if I'm sickened more by the thought of a player never walking again or the Steelers fans bitching about tomlin. Get some ****ing perspective people

Aditi kinlhabala or however you spell her name. Tweeted something to the effect of begging steelers spokesman to let them know when Shazier regains feeling in his lower body.

I know it sounds bad, but it could be temporary. Hard to care about the game after this; seeing Williams crying was very sad. Prayers for Shazier. I am only half caring about the game after this. Shazier long term health way more important.

I just don't think the team's heads are in the game. I'm not sure I can blame them.

Prayers sent! I've never cared less about the result of a Steeler game

I'll admit I'm guilty of sometimes cheering for brutal hits against opponents. I don't think I'll do that any more

Not going to respond the way I want to out of respect for Ryan Shazier and this thread. Let me just say that I've been sitting here literally praying for Shazier and his health and I trust that you and other board members are as well. This injury puts football into perspective and I apologize if my comments critical of Tomlin in the gameday thread offended you or anyone else.

Prayers for Ryan. Hope he's okay.

I was away from the computer most of the night. Just got home (watching the game elsewhere in the meantime).

This injury just makes me sick. I felt sick the moment he indicated injury and I never saw him move his legs. Well, I saw a slight twitch, but not enough to indicate all was ok in that regard.

I'll echo what TTF said. This is more than a win, or football in general. I want that man to walk out of the hospital. I pray this isn't as bad as it appears.

My only consolation is remembering Tommy Maddox's injury. He lost all feeling and movement. But it was only temporary until swelling went down. He recovered fully. I hope this is the story here.

This is one of the scariest looking injuries I’ve seen in awhile. Praying that the loss of feeling is temporary.

I hate to say it, but if he had feeling back, I think they would have announced it by now. No news is not good news at this point.

With significant swelling, it can take a few days for feeling to return.

Still not good news. But there's hope (at least for his ability to walk again).

There's really no SOP when it comes to this stuff. An announcement will be made when team officials, health care officials and Ryan Shazier determine it's an appropriate time.

It's a bad injury, but no news doesn't mean anything at this point. I want to see Shazier running back out onto the field at some point. If that can't happen, then hopefully he can live a normal life outside of football.
