So I'm coming in for the MNF game against the Chiefs. Last time I came to pittsburgh for a game I took the T to just across the river and then took the ferry across...

I'm staying in the same hotel again, but the problem is I called and the T only runs until midnight... and I'm afraid that the MNF will likely go right up to midnight, and don't want to risk being stuck. I don't really want to drive because I'd like to hit the bars before and after the game.

Is it hard to get a cab outside the stadium after a game? Anyone have any other suggestions?

I suggest parking down town in one of the garages near the convention center and just walk down the the Roberto Clemete bridge and you can either walk along the river the whole way to Heinz field or your can go around PNC park and walk down through all the Tailgating to Heinz that way. Plus it's a snap hitting any exit toward an interstate from down town. It's about 15-20 minute walk, but sometimes you will mess around that much time even if you park close to Heinz field in the tailgate lots. Plus the costs are great most are $5 bucks some are $10 bucks.

But, that walk is an easy mile to and from Heinz field, so you might only want to do this if your in okay shape.

In that case the walk from down town to Heinz is a 3 beer walk each way.

I would think that even the morons that run the City of Pittsburgh would know enough to run the T past midnight after a MNF game. 364 other days of the year there's no need. But the damn station for the tunnel-under-the-river is right across the street from Heinz Field. I'd find out for sure, but I'd be shocked if they didn't run the T later for the KC game.

This is what we do...we used to do the Station Square thing and the boat...but it got old and expensive.

They do have the train/subway/tram or whatever its called thats right at the stadium and I know it goes to downtown....where else I have no clue.

As far as a cab...I wouldnt bet on that.

And TTF I think one of these days we need to sticky these game parking/ideas/etc threads (and/or combine them all into a sticky) so people can just reference them hahah.

If you know your itenerary after the game, I am not sure why you couldn't
hook up with a cab company before and have them pick you up where you maybe enjoying
your favorite adult beverage. (PAT) Port Authority Transit who runs the Subway has come under
budget constraints, this may be why they close at 12PM? As Afan pointed out you would think
on a Monday night football game, that they would run the (T) longer, but hey you never can tell here
in the Steel City. As many of you know this is not NYC/Chicago where you can just hail a cab
    anywhere anytime.

I usually park in the Red 5 Garage which is almost right across the street from Heinz and really is not bad to get out of and easy access to the highway :)
