Vick is terrible. That said, if Haley implements a simple, short, mobile offense around him we could survive for 4-6 weeks. If Ben is done so is the season.

Or it could say they haven't performed the MRI yet

He has never been ready as a backup and it doesn't sound like he was ever all that prepared when he was starting.

I had an MRI on my back once and it was a lame experience because those machines are really tiny and tight. Not for the claustrophobic for sure. I can't imagine how lame they would be for a guy Ben's size. To get one on your knee though do they have to put you all the way in the machine? Just curious is all.

More "athlete" than "student" for sure. Most running qb's strike me that way though honestly. I could be wrong though. It happened once in the 80's.

They have wider machines for bigger folks plus they could (if not in violation of banned substances) put Ben under or give him a Zanax or similar.

Yeah they asked me if I wanted a sedative when I had mine and I said no. It only took like 20 something minutes. Maybe a knee is quicker? Some of them last a long time.

Man, I wish I had known that. They put me in the "biggest machine" and I am basically a Hobbit and still felt cramped in there.

I thought you need to wait until swelling goes down before you can tell anything.

yes that is true, they said they may do it tonight or tomorrow morning. They won't wait long on a 100 million dollar QB.

Does every stadium have MRI machines there? It seems like they get these things done quick.

I don't think the stadium does. Could be wrong though.

When Nelson tore his in the pre-season they confirmed it about an hour (if that) after it happened. You look at when players clearly blow out their knee, speculation/confirmation comes pretty quickly. These trainers are damn good at what they do and know after a quick exam even before the MRI. That doesn't mean there isn't a tear or that it's torn, it just means that this isn't a clear cut case which is a reason to be somewhat optimistic.

As for Vick, he played for the Jets! I don't think Vick has ever been great. He's had moments of being really good, and really bad, but overall he is an adequate backup to captain this ship for a short time. If Ben is gone for the season, we can pretty much start looking to next season, which really sucks at this point.

Worst case scenario just happened today...

I don`t need to wait for an MRI...

I saw his knee bend the wrong way, while his foot was planted...

Yes, he IS one tuff S.O.B. .... but when ligaments are torn, it don`t matter how tuff you are...

If he didn`t have major damage done to that knee/ ankle today, it`s a miracle!!!

He grabbed his knee, before he hit the turf.

I`m hopin for the best, but it don`t look good.

Now I gotta figure out how to cheer for the offense, when I HATE the Quarterback...

Yes, we can be successful, with Vick, if Haley adapts his play calling, and Vick gets reps with the 1st string offense...

I just can`t figure out how to pull for Vick, when I think he should burn in Hell!!!

I`ve never been in the position of hating a Steeler player, before...

Can`t even root for Vick to get hurt, because he`s better than Landry Jones, on the field...

    This sucks!

    GO STEELERS!!!

Hoping for the best but fearing the worst. Too bad we finally have a Ferrari of an offense and we just lost the keys.

An ACL acts different then an MCL. It is actually is a pretty good sign that there hasn't been any word leaning towards ACL. A small bright spot, but that's something i guess.

not to make light of your feelings but there was that Neil O'Donnell thing - but then he chickened out and moved to the Jets. There were a few haters back then.
