With all the drama, playing under an incompetent Head Coach, and arguably the leagues worst D, I could see Ben retiring after this season. A shame for him to go out like this he truly deserved better.

not necessarily. He has won 2 rings and as long as the offense is great and he is getting his numbers, he would be dumb to leave.

I certainly wouldn't say it's impossible, have to wait how the season plays out

No... Ben will stick around as long as the O-line is intact, Tomin is HC and Fincter is OC. It wouldn't hurt to draft a good Left Guard early in '19.... 2nd-3rd round. Foster is getting long in the tooth.

I heard Ben is announcing his retirement today. He wants to end all fan speculation. Tomorrow he is expected to unretire!

I suspect will give it a go next yr, almost no matter what. But, if he should get injured this yr, and now that he's Sandlot Ben again - it's very possible, he might decide to call it quits. Particularly, if AB goes toxic.

If the defense keeps wasting great performances by Ben I could actually see him saying what's the point and retiring. He's playing for rings and with this defense he isn't getting one.

He's already qualified for the HOF with his stats and 2 SB wins. You're right... he's only playing for extra rings now.

He's going to pull a Favre and stay longer than he should whenever that may be.

Most players do. They don't retire, they only stop playing when they can't anymore. The end of Ben will be interesting. He's a lot like Jim Kelly, and the end came fast for him. I suspect it will for Ben as well.

A great defense propped up a chitty offense for years and now the shoes on the other foot. Get the damn job done and stop bickering.

Didn’t Favre go to the championship game in his final year?

The Vikings were 6-10 in Favre's last season.

    Hmm, must’ve forgot that one.

Edit: I looked it up, Favre was injured. Different situation than playing too long, IMHO

Brady, on the other hand, has played too dang long. He needs to go.

They went to the conference championship the year before. In that game, Favre threw one of the dumbest 'across his body' INT's a QB can throw.

Brett threw a lot of interceptions, touchdowns too.

How many people think Brett Favre underperformed for most of his career? Only one SB win.

He was like Ben, a hot and cold gunslinger. Fun to watch but maddeningly inconsistent.

Who knows what's going on? I certainly don't have a clue.

As long as the Rooney's own this franchise, I will be a fan, and go with the punches however they may come. I'm not impressed by the drama AB has created as of late. Time for him to make amends.

As a fan, I'd rather have many good players working together then these headcases any day of the week. That 17 mill can be spread around elsewhere.

Time for him to get a grip and act like a professional getting pain multimillion dollars a year to run a route and catch a football.

As for Ben, I'll root for him as long as he's in there.

I was talking about this with a coworker and fellow fan today. We both think that if the season keeps up this way Ben will walk away. He is a Fan of Tomlin and for the first time told me that it is time for Mike to go.
