How much will Benny Snell play against miami? Is there going to be enough carries for these backs to get into rhythm once samuels gets healthy again? Could this 3 headed monster work for us going forward? Will this actually open up some extra deep shots as teams inch up to stop these backs?

Tomlin likes to run the wheels off his rbs, Snell probably gets forgotten when Samuels gets back.

Nothing is going to work if our OL can't open up some lanes to run through. I am comfortable with our RBs, not the blocking.

With out Munch to have the run game planned out the line has been less focused on the initial block in the zone scheme and more on the next level. It has left the holes they open vulnerable to being filled. The Chargers game they got back to hitting the guy in front of them and it had success.

Snell's 75 yards against the Chargers was good enough for 10th most in the league that week, even though he only played about half the game.

Conners, Samuels, Snell are to me, very similar runners - fairly straight ahead strong runners, occasional flashes of brilliance, none with breakaway speed (e.g. Willie Parker) nor consistent elusive moves, but due to poor blocking schemes as pointed out by Thorn and Hog, often get stuffed in their tracks or for losses. The best use of the backs so far this year has been screen passes and dump offs. I don't recall the Steelers RBs even sniffing 100 yd performances this year (and usually barely 50 yds). Still can't explain Samuels' amazing 172 yd performance last year against the Pats (142 rush, 30 pass). It was, and I dread saying, Bell-esque like game stats. While Jaylen only had 53 yds rushing against the Saints, the D held Ingram and Kamara to 58 yds combined and Ben out threw Brees 380 to 330 yds, which was all nice. Ah the highs and lows of 2018. At least we don't have that problem this year.

Edit - OK - Hanratty just recalled that Samuels racked up 75 yds against the Chargers. That's a plus.

Conner isn't as good as LeVeon, so they won't be running the wheels off any of these guys.

Vannett has helped and nix should be back this week. The run is showing some resemblance of itself in the past. Vannett just got here a couple of weeks ago and McDonald was dinged up for one of those. Nix hasn't played all year yet. Remember folks we haven't been at full strength yet this year.

Nix will help the run game IF Fichtner actually uses him.

I wouldn’t count on it. Nix made comments about how the plan had changed since he’s been out and it didn’t seem in a positive way.

Nix will help the run game?! How about ANY Offensive Skill Player will help IF Fichtner uses them. Better yet, putting the Wide Receivers in winnable situations is not a bad idea to start with!!

Slants and posts seem to be non-existent from this offense. Wonder what could have changed?!?!

Here is how I see it. To be successful, the coaches need to plan for the team they are playing/adjust during the game. Some teams hold up better against the run, some hold up better against the pass. Some games a team plays the run better than the pass. Ever occasionally, a team can be beat by the dink and dunk and dump-offs to the running backs. I'm more concerned about our ability to take advantage of what the other team is giving us!

He's got electric boots and a mohair suit.

Benny will get ooh-ahh stats in a route vs Miami OR Samuels will be back and Benny will get 3 carries. In either case, we'll still be in the dark about his real pro potential

I doubt he sees any more than 5 carries. It will be Conners for 20+ and Samuels for 8 or 9. If Benny gets more it will most likely be to injury from either of those 2.

I think the over/under on Snell's carries is 1 this week.

I like all out Rb's, and hope that the OC can put them in a position to succeed

Le'von, I'm showing the Steelers, Bell - 100 carries for 326 yards and 1 TD.
James, future bad ass (I hope) Conner - 74 carries for 235 yards and 3 TD.

Give Conner 26 more carries and I'm betting for 2019 he is better then Bell.

Bell didn't fumble a game away in the 4th quarter, and cost his team win .

And both play for losing teams. Conner avg p/c is 3.2, Bell 3.25, give Conner 26 more carries and he might actually still have less yards than Bell.

Our OL is supposed to be among the best. The Jets are among the worst. If you thought our QB situation was questionable their back up(Falk) might be good enough for the XFL....might.
