he is my favorite Steelers TE. would be a monster if he played today. Too early to die at 63. RIP.

The Steeler's first "Big Ben". 2 SB Rings and selected to 75th Anniversary All Time Steeler Team in 2007. Whole career with Steelers. RIP Sir.

I think Cunningham would have tore up the league if he played in today's game. Big numbers like Gronk or Winslow. Only negative about him is that he loses the ball after making a catch.

RIP Bennie. A great TE before TE's became great.

I watched his catch on the flea flicker against the Browns as it happened on TV. Still one of my favorite sports moments., RIP big guy.

I remember that flea flicker play as well like it was yesterday. What also sticks out in my mind is that in his rookie year Cunningham didn't run around people, he ran THROUGH them. And left 'em in his wake.

I had the opportunity to converse with Bennie a few times in recent years. Like me he was an educator, and also a friend of the “real” Jimmy Allen.
A huge player and a huge individual.

I watched it live as well. And it wasn't just a flea flicker, it was a double reverse flea flicker. Bradshaw handed off to Bleier who handed off to Swann who lateraled back to Bradshaw who threw to Cunningham for the TD and the win in overtime!!! RIP Bennie.

I met him once at a charity event the Steelers sponsored. Well sort of. I’m a good bit shorter than he was, and I turned around to the left. Simultaneously, while holding a platter of horderves, elbow up in the air, he turned to the right. Then I found his elbow in my mouth. He said “sorry”. I said “ok”. It wasn’t a very long conversation.
