If I like a team does that make me a fan? I like the Steelers , but I don' have any of their merchandise. ...I watch football casually ,I am a casual football fan ... if I had a team and they got beat in the playoffs ,I'll still watch football ...

I watch as many football games as I can. I'm currently watching the Skins and Boys right now. As I said, I"m a football fan as well as a Steelers fan. But I would think that if you like a team then yes, you're a fan.

Absolutely. This isn't the best place for a Lemieux/Gretzky debate so I won't go down that road, I'll just say that I believe Lemieux was the most dominant, most talented player of all time. That's just my opinion. Unfortunately I never got to see him play live. Every time I had tickets to a Leafs/Pens game (grandfather had Leafs season tickets that have since been passed on to me), Lemieux was injured and didn't play. The last time I had Leafs/Pens tickets, Lemieux got injured the game before and never played again.

Unfortunately his body was simply not up to the challenge of a long NHL career. It's kind of ironic. To have all that talent, arguably the most talent ever, but also have a body that isn't up to the task.

Losing to Pats next week isn't an end all. Beating someone in the regular season has no bearing on the result against the same team in the playoffs.Vise versa if we won next week.Yes it's nice to have home field but if you have a coach with a solid game plan then anything is possible.

Bengals have been playing better as of late. They're one of the worst in the league at getting off the field on 3rd and 7 or more.
I think it'll be a close game in the first half then we'll pull away in the 2nd half.

can't we just pull away in the first and second half? that would be much easier on my heart. :smiley1::cool:

The red rooster has been playing better of late. And their is always that scumbag burfect. The bungles are not eliminated from the playoffs yet as well as the crows. The Defense better get ready for a steady diet of passing from the rooster and our secondary is struggling. We need to No Huddle the $hit out of them and run up the score, this should be the driving force the rest of the season and in to the playoffs. # keep Marvin Lewis

Since I need to pick up the pace a bit I'm betting 500 on the Steelers to win by 6 points or more and another 500 on the over/under of 43.

No, you're only a fan if you've got TheSteelersFans.com tattoo. It's a copy of the main forum page the day you joined, across the length of the torso.

The rest of us have all got one.

Wait, everyone did get one, didn't they...?

More seriously, I think some of the context to people asking whether you're a fan or not is that there is a rule from since when the board began, about only Steelers fans posting in the main forum. I think TTF experimented with a smack talk forum for other teams' fans, but not sure how popular it was.

So the point of that was (I think) to keep everything civil and prevent those silly threads that you tend to see where it's just people coming on to provoke stuff. In that sense, the fact that you like the Steelers (I think you said they were like your AFC team, or something?) would seem fine...

ugh, this is a thread about beating the Bengals! Some people are so consumed with one team, they don't even know we play the Ravens next week. The fricken Ravens. We hate the Ravens, we should have that game circled on our calendar and begin talking about them just as soon as Andy Dalton takes a knee to run out the clock for another Steelers' victory this season.
