I will start by saying that yesterdays loss was tough but a necessary learning experience for the D. The bottom line is while we have speed at the LB position and on the edges to get upfield and or get home those players are inexperienced on stretch run plays and are not yet physical enough to shed blockers while moving feet laterally which is a must, Harrison could have helped here but its the new guys time to shine or look lackluster. It didn't help that we were sloppy in our tackling and that our safeties take bad angles but its a learning experience. This game was a game that was lost because of #7

If you watched the Green bay or New England game you saw 2 Elite QB's who with the game on the line AND needing a TD in the last 2 minutes do just that. We had momentum and field position in the 3rd and 4th quarters and didn't do much Why? It starts with #7 who I've always felt never worked as hard during the off and preseason. Do you know why Brady and A-Rod play full halves of the third game in pre season? its because those 2 have the killer instinct and want to work to be in sync with their offenses. Why is it that the Steelers traditionally start slow at the beginning of a new season? #7. Why in 3 years was Ben not on the same page as Wheaton but Brady can make a guy signed off the street a star? I believe it starts mentally. I've said for the past 3 seasons including this one that Ben is playing like he has 1 foot out the door. The problem is if you are THINKING about retiring it is almost impossible to work, train and prepare to be better than you have ever been, in Ben it shows. I don't blame him for being who he is which is a sandlot style QB with toughness, decent arm with accuracy issues from time to time heck we've won many games that way but look at your boxscore yesterday and history, better yet look at the box score from the Atlanta, Green Bay, New Orleans, and New England game. The common theme in each of those games is SPREADING THE BALL AROUND. How the heck can you win if only 1 RB touches the ball (Conner in my opinion should get 4 to 6 carries per game if for no other reason than for his change of pace running style which is more direct)

How can you win a game when you ONLY have 5 receivers touch the ball (the Bears had 6 receivers touch the ball so think about that when comparing their offense vs ours). We only had 2 players with 3 or more receptions and 1 was Leveon who is a running back. No throws to the Tight Ends in the 2nd half which unfortunately has become typical and no throws or reception to Eli Rodgers our slot receiver. Eli in this offense should be to Ben what Edelman is to Brady btw. The reason for this is #7. How many years have we moaned while Ben checks out the Defense taking the play clock down to 1 or zero. How many times does Ben get locked on Antonio on third down (previously he used to lock on Hines or Santonio) BUT THIS IS DIFFERENT FOLKS WE HAVE THE WEAPONS TO CAUSE MISMATCHES. We have route runners in Eli and Antonio, we have down field speed guys with DHB, Martavis, Antonio, we have height guys with Bryant, Ju-Ju, Vance, Grimble and Jesse, we have 2 athletic Tight Ends that can take LB's down the field on seam routes in Vance and Grimble, we have receivers that can run drag routes with consistency in Ju Ju and Eli PLUS we have 2 RB's that can catch out the backfield in Conner and Leveon plus a fullback and thumper in the trenches for good measure (Watson and Rosie Nix). Do you know how many points A-Rod, Brees, and Brady would put up with this type of talent????? SEE MATT RYAN AND THE FALCONS.

Now if you dont believe me look at the boxscore in the Atlanta, Green bay, New England games, Look at the number of RB's used, Look at the receivers, look at the number of catches for those receivers AND THEN LOOK AT THOSE TEAMS PERSONNEL COMPARED TO OURS. Why are we not scoring 30 plus a game.......#7 folks

When you have a minute and two time outs. You have to be able to drive down for at least a FG try.

That being said, a lot of good teams lost yesterday. Ravens got thumped, Raiders had 126 yards of total offense, and got killed by the Redskins. The Broncos lost. Wins don't come easy on the road. Home teams dominated yesterday.

i can't wait until ben retires.

i've seen enough empty backfield at the 1 yard line.

i've seen enough of the go deep instead of going for the first down to keep the drives alive.

    it's just not smart football.

ben put this defense on the field a lot more and longer than they should have been in 90 degree heat.

Beg to differ, The Ravens are not a good offensive team, they are limited at the receiver and tight end position. The Ravens DO have the best kicker in the game who wins games along with the Defense they have which limits what you do. Flacco is still trying to get on track as he did not play the entire pre season and he no longer has Steve Smith or his Tight End safety valves.

The Broncos ARE NOT a good Offensive team either but they are also one of the better defensive teams AND they are very tough to play at home because of the altitude situation. I predicted the Raiders would lose but it was because Washington usually puts up points, especially in prime time. But hey just for kicks look at the boxscore in the Redskins/Raiders game. Look at how many receivers for the losing team touched the ball!!!!!! Look at how many RB's the winning team used or how many receivers Washington used and had receptions. Now again compare personnel of all 3 teams

Again none of those teams have the Offensive fire power that we have or the so called Elite QB, so if thats the case why are we not putting up points against a team like Chicago? The Answer......#7

Some of us have been saying for a while now, we rely tooooo much on Bell. i would of rather seen JuJu get targeted on short passes then Bell.

Some awful football yesterday. Despite Bens poor play and the D getting gashed, they still would have won that game if not for special teams.

Im not so concerned about the defense as I am about Ben. I think the D will rebound but Ben has been talking about retiring for a reason. He could know he doesnt have it anymore. He wasnt sharp last year either.

I'm getting very concerned about Ben. I need to watch the coaches film when it comes out, but I expect to see some shaky execution by Ben based on how that game went, and based on Ben's recent history with road games.

It would be ironic if Ben ends up being the primary reason we don't win another title during the final years of the Ben Era.

It is up to the Coaches to change the approach on O . We know Bell is not right and we keep force feeding him . We know Ben is not right , but we do nothing to make his throws easier .Ben can't be that school yard QB anymore, he needs to use the PA game and change the passing tree to a triangle or tier look in the PA passing window .

We should use the RB who hits the hole the fastest to help set up that PA .If we must throw as many deep balls as we have been then we need the fastest WR on the Team running that route .
