Ben! Understand why Rudolph was draft? Why Dobbs was retained?

The Steelers went 12-3 last year with a 7-1 playing teams away in their own stadiums.

People are ridiculous. I'm supposed to take this first guy serious about crying about a "roller coaster" ride.

    IMO.

Very few teams have allotted their fan base with the success the Steelers have had.

If the perceived roller coaster ride (which I think is a joke) is too much for them, then try another team and see how that goes for you.

As for Shannon Sharpe, Ben could have thrown a perfect passer rating and he'd still find the negative in Ben. Obviously he doesn't like the guy, which is fine. It doesn't mean that I give two flips about what he's saying regarding the team.

And for those that are so pissed at Ben, there are more than a handful of teams that are envious of the Steelers situation at QB that'd be more than glad to take him off your hands. Glad you're not running the team though.

I get a kick out people's reactions out of a bad game.

How many bad games has Brett Farve, Steve Young, Warren Moon, Terry Bradshaw, John Elway, Dan Marino, and yes for the gallery Neil O' Donnell have had?

Their career playoff QB passer rating is less that of Ben https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_rating_career_playoffs.htm

Ben is 2nd among active QBs (meaning being Tom Brady) for the most playoff wins and games started!

    The ignorance is astounding!

And like Favre, Ben will be asked to leave before he is ready.

Not sure how to make it any clearer. The idea that Ben's "road status" is so poor is grossly exaggerated with a 7-1 record in the regular season last year, but I'm sure Mason Rudolph or Josh Dobbs would do better.

Comparing with modern QBs, he's 2nd best with playoff appearance, wins, and among the top with percentage of games won in the post season. I posted a link earlier to this, and yes you can look at these previous players which are many hall of famers and see that they too had really bad games.

People like to complain about Ben, but the reality is the Steelers are the envy to the majority of teams with their consistency at QBs. If Ben is consistently turning the ball over at midseason, then I can take this stuff seriously.

Until then, it was just a bad game by a rusty QB who made some ill advised passes. Also if you look at the tape, Villenuava (sp?)had a heck of a day struggling against Myles Garret. The Steelers started bumping him and getting him help. Myles is starting to show how is draft status was warranted.

Got it, mcam. I misread your “road team in their own stadium” line. Oops!

Aside: I’d LOVE to see current and older QB stats, each normalized to his era’s average.
