Ben! Understand why Rudolph was draft? Why Dobbs was retained?

This is Ben. Then you see those 500 yard 6 td type of games, or the jags playoff game last year.

Ben can be one of the worst qb's on the field when he is "off" but when he is "on" he is the greatest of all time in that moment.

Yep. Ben reminds me of Favre. Favre could string together some incredible performances... and then throw 5 INTs in one game.

Which is why Favre is never talked about as a top 5 QB. Players like Brady and Manning had brutal regular season games. Sometimes as many as two or three. But they were very consistant overall. Their great games would make up for any "Poor"games. It was very rare where either were directly responsible for a team losing a playoff game or SB.

Favre's bad (IMO) often directly led to his team losing big games. Favre was good for style points. He had a cannon of an arm. You'd be on the edge of your seat & have him number one in fantasy. But it never led to multiple championships. Ben is in the same boat as Favre.

ouch very truthful. We do not have the defense to make up for the mistakes. That is why 2004-2010 we did well.

Agree with everything said in this segment. They nailed it. Stephen Smith is a Steelers fan, but the other 2 commentators are not.

Max Kellerman is an idiot. He can't argue worth a damn with Stephen A (Who nailed it in this segment). That's why I miss Bayless on that show. I like real debates.

Sorry... but Bayless is an idiot, too. And a Cowboys fan to boot.

22.6 Has to be a record for worse Super Bowl performance by a QB.

:smiley1: I know! Google it! :lolol:

It's funny... what Stephen A Smith and co. were saying is no different than what myself and some of the more "critical" members here, who don't wear rose-colored glasses, have been saying after the tie game with Cleveland... and for the past 10 years. Smith is right.... Steelers have squandered some good opportunities with over-the-top talent and it looks like they will continue to do so.

It's because Tomlin is a bad coach.

It'll be fun to look back at this thread when Ben inevitably throws 4-5 touchdowns at some point in the next few weeks. lol

This is who he is, guys. Sunday was a bad performance by him, but he's streaky; albeit, he's always been more on than off, but it happens.

It’s was the first game and in crap weather.15 more in the regular season (with any luck)a
It was one game in crap weather with Ben being a slow starter anyway. As much as I think both Mason and Dobbs can be future starters it’s way too early too talk about Ben’s demise! He has a game or two like this every year but when it’s all said and done it’s because of him we are always in the thick of things almost every year.He still is a franchise qb and if we don’t do well this season it won’t be because of our qb play. The pressure is on the other side of the ball and containing a juggernaut of an offense like the Browns hasn’t proved anything yet.

Same as last year, even I doubted him and then he went on a tear after the Jax game.

    Rinse and repeat.
