IMO, there’s no justification for retaliating here. It just adds to the steaming pile the rest of us step in as we try to read Steelers news and escape our troubles.

 

only his last contract was bad...Before that he stole nothing from the steelers...The steelers would been way worst without Ben.Look at how bad our offense is without him at this point or when he was not the same player at the end of 2020 and the 2021 season

This is all on him?...I mean do you remember that Bell was out of the playoffs in 2014 and 2015 and they had nothing to replace him in both years(of course it did not help that Williams was also out in the 2015 playoffs too,same for AB in 2015 vs Denver)...They had zero defense after the injury of Shazier in 2017

Very rare you win a playoff game when your defense gives points on almost every drive and you play against an elite defense at the same time....When you have no margin for error, very rare you can win...It was also a problem for the dolphins when they had Marino

That said, I don’t think it is the Steeler way that is the issue, I think what Ben is really referring to is the camaraderie that those teams had.

Those teams played to win, and played for each other.

They didn’t have guys like Pickens pouting about getting the ball, or getting their dance in to the detriment of the team like Claypool.

 

My only point of optimism is that ARII apparently attends at least every home game...which means he not only sees with eyes just how bad this team is, but can also very much hear the deafening boos and chants for firings that have been a staple of the increasingly empty Acrisure Stadium. ARII is many things but at the end of the day, he's still a business man who's goal is to keep the coffers full and the money flowing, and he knows that the only way that can happen is if the Steelers remain a successful and profitable franchise. The demoralizing negativity among both the players and the fan base is unprecedented since at least the 80s, if not possibly even the 60s. I don't think Art is going to stand for it much longer. I also don't think eeking out a .500 season will be enough to save Tomlin from being retired at either the end of this season, or the season thereafter. And if he does allow this to continue without drastic changes being made, then he'll likely stand to lose millions - in which case, he'd deserve to lose every red cent.

For some reason I pretty much don't care what Ben thinks anymore. He's just a media talking head now trying to stay relevant with some lame podcast that any one of us could create. Just my opinion.

 

I can guarantee you that I would not care at all if you ever did a podcast about the Steelers. But I do watch Ben’s podcasts.

 

Wow…chills. George Pickens is not a Steeler. Jaylen Warren is a Steeler. George Pickens lacks the football character to be a Steeler. He betrays his teammates on the field of battle. Rooney should DEMAND that Tomlin deactivate Pickens for the Bengals game but neither he nor Tomlin have the gonads to do anything but bow at the altar of his (perceived) talent!
