To those who think Ben would’ve performed better than Terry had the roles been reversed I would counter to say Terry would’ve feasted on defenses today with the protection QB’s and receivers get. He called his own plays also, Terry was a student of the game - twice the student Ben was, I think he would’ve torn modern defenses apart.

I asked this question to a bunch of non Steeler fans and as expected the older guys said Bradshaw and the younger said Ben and also asked who Bradshaw was:)

This is the thing those that argue the difference ignore. Terry had no offensive coordinator. He called his own plays. No QB coach. I'm just tired of the argument. Thanks for clarifying the difference

Some of us watched both , and know this. Also some of us remember how Bradshaw looked, and how many SBs he won after all those 9 HOF players left. Also some know Bradshaw played 5 years before He actually threw more tds than ints. Do that today, and You are gone, or a backup somewhere.
    Thanks for the clarification .

Here is a question on this debated subject. What if Tomlin was the Coach in the 70's and Noll in Ben's time?? :hmm:

I think high school level Coaches could have got the teams in the 70's to a SB.

Ben had the second worst QB rating in one of “his superbowl wins”

    Just saying

True that Ben was bad in that super bowl and they would not been in the super bowl if Ben did not step up big time in the 2005 playoffs.....They had 3 road playoffs win remember and he had a QB rating of 125 in the playoffs before the super bowl so even if he was bad in the super bowl,he had been one of the biggest reason why the steelers won the super bowl

true and I understand those who take Bradshaw over Ben and I have no problem with that....And even if I quoted you, my message was not only to you...It's just Ben's contribution of this super bowl win in 2005 is so criminally underrated

In 2004, Ben was NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and took a team to the AFC Championship game. They lost to the New England Patriots, one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history.

Then in 2005, Ben did lead the team to a Super Bowl as a second year player(They were the first team to win 3 road playoff games as a wildcard to go to a Super Bowl) and won a Super Bowl.

Ben did all that in his first 2 seasons in the NFL. He did all that in less than half the time it took Terry Bradshaw to even became a competent NFL starter. Not bashing Terry at all. Just stating fact.

He did all that without 9 Hall of Fame players all over the field playing with him for pretty much his entire career. Imagine what he may have accomplished if he had that kind of roster support his entire 18 year career.

    Just saying

Qb ratings is about as useful as PFF which equal Pretty F **king Fake...It's a nice stat for people that lose to look at. I've said 100 times make the Qb rating make sense. Trubisky more losses , more ints, less tds, and less yards had a Higher QB rating than Ben who had more wins, less ints, more tds ,and more yards. Before You just throw out a meaningless stat....make sure it makes sense. With all that said....He still had as many tds in His 1st SB as Bradshaw did in His 1st SB. So..., and He did it way younger.
