Here simple. Ben played in 3 SBs. He Had 3 HoF players in one SB, and one HoF player in the the other two. Bradshaw Had 9 HoF players in all of His SBs, and to top it off. You have said Tomlin is not a very Good coach....yet Ben went to one SB with Cowher, and two SBs with Tomlin......while Bradshaw went to all His with Noll. Who do You personally think had the better coach....since many of You say Coaching is the most important. Now I'm done. LoL.
I will say for the last time....if people stop making threads of this, and don't think they have to bash one everytime they mention Him.....I myself will never talk about it. I have never started a thread on it. I don't like bashing one to prop the other.

I think we should all be incredibly grateful that as Steelers fans we were lucky enough to have both of these great quarterback leading our teams to championships. I hate comparing them too. The last thing I want to do is crush Terry Bradshaw as a player to try to build up Ben Roethlisberger. I only do so when other fans bash Big Ben for some reason, and even then I don't knock Terry to support Ben.

Bashing one or the other is beyond ridiculous. Both were great players. Both guided their teams to Super Bowls and Super Bowl victories.

Exactly, but I do end up sounding like I am, and I don't want it. I just hate hearing the bashing the other way, and I have never started one of these. It's kind of like the Najee, and Warren thing. We need both, and I would never bring up either.....until I must hear , or see it written.

Exactly. I don't see anything productive out of trashing players that I believe are quality players. I support both and hate when people try to tear them down.

Same with Harris and Warren. I'm happy we have both and think they will both do well if the offensive line plays a little better.

I don’t disagree. It’s obvious that I give Bradshaw the edge because of his superior performance in Super Bowls. I don’t mean to come across as bashing Ben. I love Ben and appreciate what he’s done for this organization. He’s a close second place in Steelers quarterback lore. I don’t think I said anything in my argument above that wasn’t factual. Overall, Ben underperformed in Super Bowls. That’s not bashing him, that’s just stating a fact. He managed to win two out of three and I’m very happy about that and he generally played lights out in getting us to the Super Bowl. At any rate, Terry and Ben were both great and we were fortunate to have them both in Black & Gold.

Both Bradshaw and Big Ben were generational QB’s. I have hard time saying either was better than the GOAT (Joe Montana). However, Mahomes will be likely recognized as the GOAT some day…

Ben is great but he’s correct. Terry was the best Steelers QB. One of the best big game QB’s in the NFL ever.

Interesting debate. They’re both multi-SB winning first ballot hall of famers. I hope to see a 3rd (and maybe 4th) multi-SB winning first ballot Steelers long-term QB in my lifetime.

Who do I think was better? It’s splitting hairs, but I’m going with Bradshaw’s performances in the biggest games as defining him as one of the true all-time greats. Ben was also a great QB, but I can’t elevate him to that level. More a second-tier HOF QB, which is still pretty damn great.

Now who will be the next great Steelers QB?

You didn't say anything argumentative. I was speaking in a much broader sense about fans on this message board that crush Big Ben any chance they get. I'm sure you've seen them making derogatory remarks any time Ben is brought up at all. The "dummy" insults and all the rest.

You certainly aren't in that category from anything I have seen.

The question is, is he currently on the roster?

    Stay tuned…

YOU mentioned it took Ben only a couple years to have a winning record. The Steelers were in much better shape when Ben took over than When Terry did. Never mind. Like I said I'm done with this

You took a piece of what I said in a larger conversation, and decided to just focus on that one piece.

Its the correct/humble thing to say. Don't want to hype yourself up or brag when there is another HoF QB that played for the team.

In reality, Ben is the Steelers GOAT tho. Terry was great and won a lot of SB's, but it is harder than ever to win the Super Bowl in the current era. More teams, salary cap, etc. The current game is made to create parity on purpose when it wasn't before. Ben was supremely talented and would have been seen as one of the greatest if he didn't exist in probably the best QB era ever (Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers). He went from high end game manager to a guy that holdsv the NFL record for number of 500 yard games in a career (4), and second most 6 TD games in a career (2). I don't want to bash or take away from anything Bradshaw accomplished, but Ben is the GOAT for the burgh. Hopefully there's another in the future that we can compare. That would be a nice problem to have lol

    He actually could drop kick

I don’t know what brain cell that just dusted off

And Jack Lambert did long snap for extra points or field goals I’m not sure how often

Bradshaw threw the winning TD pass in four Super Bowls. Clutch when it mattered. One of the greatest.

We should be arguing about the three best Steeler QBs, Bradshaw, Marino, and Ben. Now that would be a fun thread. Still pisses me off..

I think that is just Ben being modest. I believe Ben was the better QB. I know they played in different era’s but Ben beats him in nearly every statistical category and he sustained that success over a longer career. In addition Terry had a better team around him than Ben did.
