To be fair, Ben had some incredible talent along the way too. For the first half of his career, the defense was lights out. Those early years were where we had our greatest playoff success and both Super Bowl wins.

Terry played in a real NFL where the D could kick ass. Ben played in a help the offense NFL. Easy to see why he had better numbers. A lot of games Bradshaw just had to pretty much hand off and throw for under 200 yards and we'd win cause of one bad ass defense. No way in today's NFL would a team do what the Steelers did in 1976. Gave up 28 points in 9 games. 5 Shutouts, 3 in a row.

Funny thing about 1976. The Patriots scored 30 on us and beat us. We beat the KC Chiefs 45-0.

When Bradshaw was at his peak he was probably the better QB but it took him 5 years to reach that peak and then had to retire early because of his elbow problems. Ben was good right from the start and stayed that way for around 15 years. So it's difficult to say which one was better. I guess Ben for longevity but probably Terry at his peak if you needed one win for the championship.

Again one played with 9 HOF players for most of his career, and all of His SBs. The other played with only one HOF Troy P longer than his 1st two years. You can believe You know what You know, but would be foolish to think Ben wouldn't win more with that team, and that coach. Saying Ben played with great talent, and comparing it to 9 HOF players is way way way different....You know this, and so does everyone else. Some just don't want to admit it.

I forget who, but somebody on this board actually tried to rank NOD ahead of either Bradshaw or Ben, I can’t remember which one.

And I just realized that I started that sentence with “I forget” and ended it with “I can’t remember”.

Getting older is not for wimps.

You can't go by Super Bowl rings unless you want to say Trent Dilfer and Doug Williams were better QBs than Marino and Tarkentun. Nor can you go by SB MVPs in this comparison as one could argue Stallworth should've been named MVP against the Rams and Ben should've been MVP against Arizona. They could've (should've?) Had one MVP each.

Bradshaw was garbage until he got a good supporting cast. Ben somehow won a SB with an O Line that was as bad as any NFL line you'll ever see.

You definitely can't go by stats since they played in different eras with different rules. There's no doubt that Bradshaw had a stronger arm, but Ben was generally more accurate IMO, especially when running to extend a play. Although I think Ben was the better player I can definitely see why many would consider Bradshaw better. Of course there's no way of having a definitive answer, but my vote goes for Ben

If Ben plays on those ‘70s teams, they still win their 4 SBs. If Bradshaw played on those Ben teams, he doesnt win more than the 2 they won. If that. Bradshaw wouldnt have been given 5 yrs to develop, he’d have left as FA, or been dumped by the team. Remember, St Terry lost his starting job to a heroin addict.

Geez, where’s the appreciation for the guy who played a major role in winning 4 Super Bowls? You can argue that Bradshaw simply managed the game in Super Bowl IX against the Vikings. But his big plays led directly to the Steelers winning Super Bowls X, XIII and XIV. Who knows whether or not Ben would’ve been able to do that. I do know this, Ben played below average in two of the three Super Bowls he played in and had the lowest QBR of any winning quarterback in Super Bowl history against the Seahawks. He was basically terrible. Randle el was our best quarterback that game. Ben played average against the Cards until the magical last minute drive which was phenomenal and then failed to get it done against the Packers. Ben had the stats, but Terry stepped up when the lights were the brightest and the pressure was the greatest. As a Steeler fan, you should have more respect than that.

Being another fan who is old and seen some of the great qbs play, play ,terry .stabler montana ect they all had one thing in common leadership. They set the tone for the team .Having a great defense was part of the qbs doing. Can you imagine any Steeler defensive player lettin ga qb be as tough as them?Sure Ben was strong ,Terry was tough as nails, he also called his own plays ,real plays not schoolyard scrambles like Ben.Terry was the team leader and set an example . tark set passing records and running like a chicken plays ,Marino was a very great passer but all about passing and stats . Terry led by example ,short career compared to Ben ,but the ds were not as hard an qbs as they were when Terry played.Ben good ,with help from the Bus. Terry great cause he drove the bus and in the big games he often drove the bus . .

Very! He chooses to focus on Bradshaw losing his job to a “heroin addict” as if the story ends there. Ridiculous. I choose to focus on Bradshaw leading us to four great Super Bowl wins!

Ben played with current 3 HOF players besides himself. Bettis, Faneca and Polamalu. And that's not done yet. Harrison and Ward still have a chance.... Watt, AB, Heyward, Pouncey and Fitzpatrick are probably locks for HOF.

True....I think that Ben had a better regular season resume that Bradshaw but Bradshaw had a better playoffs resume especially in the super bowl

Ben also played in an Offense friendly league, but Bradshaw played in a Defense friendly league. You can't touch the WRs and QBs today without getting dinged.

This is true but Ben has been more consistent QB during his career, even when you compare the rest of the league in his era...Bradshaw's first 5 seasons were tough at time....When he won his first super bowl, he was one of the worst QBs in the NFL in the regular season if we compare with the other QBs in 1974 and he was benched twice during that year, first 6 games and another time with like 4-5 left in the season.

But Bradshaw was a much better QB from 1975 until the end of his career,I take Bradshaw overall but this is still close

that is very kind and humble of him.

if you go by rings, then yes, Terry is that guy. But Ben was amazing in his own right.

Right. People like to throw out that Terry played with a bunch of HOFers but it wasn't like Ben was playing with a bunch of scrubs and played with a few HOFers himself.
