Ben Roethlisberger restructures contract

The Steelers got it done w/ some more yet to do. They're amazing. Here's my take (LOL) of it:

1st up was Woodley. This started even before the last season ended. Rooney let it be known that we could not afford to lose him and keeping him in a Steelers' uni was of the highest priority. Woodley also worked with them to restructure and that was a huge bonus. He ranks up there w/ Ben on the man crush level they have for him because of this.

Next up, Timmons. "Will you help us with the cap by allowing us to move some money around? Oh, and here's a little something to show our thanks today." They gave him six million reasons to agree. He pocketed the check, made a beeline for the bank, and once the check cleared was more than happy play nice nice with them.

They were ecstatic when the "roller of big cigars", Khan, informed them that they had just cleared 10 big ones in cap space. Rooney practically had an orgasm and Tomlin was moved to tears. Money man Khan then left with his big black brief case and more work left to do for the Rooneys.

Ike was then called in and forced to view a recording of his last performance. "Stop the tape" he begged and immediately agreed to restructure. Cha ching, millions saved as Ike bolted out of there.

Meanwhile, both McFadden and Battle waited at home, desperate for the" call that never would come, only to find out their facility badges had been revoked. More savings.

Khan then moved onto Colon and Ben and tada, 30 million bucks in cap monies cleared. "All hail the mighty Khan" they cheer when he comes to the office now.

It's a basic synopsis w/ my taint but it does generally describe what they've down, thus far.

 

Yup, great job, the can has been kicked down the road until next year.

 

Oh, one more thing. From what I've have read everyone of our players that restructured also allowed Rooney, and backers, to pro-rate any additional monies owed. That is HUGE! It does the obvious, free up cap space, but it also doesn't strap them for up front cash, and in addition, they can move money around over years so it doesn't hurt in the next cap.

They should be commended for this big time! Especially our franchise QB and Woodley.
Woodley could have named his price on the open market. Kudos.
