He’s doing the right thing and that’s honoring his present contract! He’s vastly underpaid in terms of this years qb’s new contract’s but he’s not crying about it!Same thing with Brady who is paid around what Ben is making.Maybe Mr Bell should take some notes!!!Wouldn’t it be great to hear Bell say” I’m just trying to help the Steelers win another Super Bowl now!I’ll worry about free agency when and if it happens next year”! That’s not happening, what am I thinking???

This is merely a smart PR move. Trust me, when it comes time to put it on paper, Ben ain't gonna accept anything out of line; he will get his, without a doubt. But at least this way, we don't have to hear him whine about it in the meantime, which I appreciate. At least he's not making rap songs about getting paid.

The Steelers would be CRAZY to offer Ben any long term contract,
    2 years he is done.

He has 2 years left on his contract, so let him play it out, he gets paid 23.2 M this year and next year, go with 1 year extensions after 2019 if he makes it that far.............

Ben has a contract, Bell doesn't. Ben has already been paid hundreds of millions, Bell hasn't yet had that one big contract that RB's get (and that's all they get, is 1 big contract). It's apples to oranges. Do you really think Ben would be playing on the franchise tag? There's not a chance in hell. Ben pouted because we drafted a QB, just imagine if he was getting tagged 2 years in a row.

I think I will be making 21.8 this year. 21.8 minus about 6 zeros, and the decimal point needs to be moved around too!

Actually Bell will make about 27 mil. for last year and this year. That is Ben type money, so yes he has gotten the big payday. That's more than the next 3 RBs put together in that span.

I wouldn't be surprised after his two years are up that he signs with another team. Rudolph will be ready to take over. If they decide to extend him it would be next season and wouldn't or shouldn't be for more then one year.

Except if he tears his Achilles, not only will he not get tagged again, he wouldn't get a big deal from anyone. RB's are disposable. They get 1 chance for a big, long term deal and then their career begins to wind down. That's why the tag is so risky for players.

Again, Ben is saying the right things because he has 2 years left. Bell isn't even under contract. Anyone who thinks Ben wouldn't be pouting if he was tagged hasn't been paying attention to his career. Ben wouldn't be writing rap songs, but he'd be making constant passive aggressive comments about everyone.

My wife is an Urlacher fan because she also went to the U of New Mexico.

I assume you were there? I was.
