Edmunds was almost there. That was a chance I usually don't see Russell take.

Yeah. First newbie in a long time I`m thinking is a troll and would consider ignoring. No legit newbie should ever start like that.

I'm not comparing their careers. I was just saying that the idea Wilson hasn't done much isn't accurate.
Making a comparison between the two, Wilson's escapability and ability to extend plays on his owns ranks up there with Ben's (prime Ben).

#34 singled on anyone = Mismatch, Wilson probably saw it in the film room many times that week.

He does get them in the playoffs, I'll give him that. His second SB he did let it go to get them inside the 10 when it mattered, Big Ben style. I should look at his W/L record again. My memory says that they are usually about 9-10 wins a season.

He was looking that way the whole time. His timing was perfect.

    Ben Roethlisberger -

21 playoff games in 14 years

    Division round = 5-2
    Conference championship = 3-2
    SB = 2-1

    Russell Wilson -

15 playoff games in 8 years

    Division round = 2-4
    Conference championship = 2-0
    SB = 1-1

Ben had most of these wins early in his career. One of his divisional losses was without his top 2 weapons. I blame his conference championship loss on Tomlin.

Russell has trouble in the divisional round. He doesn't belong in top tier with Mahommes & Rodgers.

    Edit: wildcard rounds:
    Ben 3-3
    Russell 4-1

Are you basing that on Wilson's individual performance and film breakdown of him from those divisional round games, or are you basing it on the teams 2-4 record in divisional round games?

Thanks for researching that. Many factors could have played in to those results, I doubt Rodgers would compare any more favourably tbh.

The thing that often gets missed with Wilson is how poor his supporting cast actually is. Since the legion of boom years their roster has been very average imo. Even now there are absolutely gaping holes in the roster, their OLine is terrible, they probably have the worst pass rush in the league and their secondary is very questionable even with Adams.

He has had very little by way of weapons in recent years either aside from Lockett who is criminally underrated. Doug Baldwin struggled with injuries in his later years and they hadn’t much else, albeit Metcalf was a good addition in 2019. Yet, I expect them to be in playoff contention this year as Wilson continues to turn close games in to wins. It’s unreal how many games he has won for them in recent years. If he had more quality around him I think he would get a lot more recognition. Just my personal opinion.

Basing it on his results. A quick glance says Seattle wasn't scoring tds in his losses.

That's the clutch factor. His defense has never been horrific but I agree about his receivers. They did almost nothing with Jimmy Graham on the team.

Every once and awhile a noob gets loose and tries to go all 1st day in prison on someone. If I remember one of the really great ones was someone trying to shank HugeSnack to earn some cred. I laugh to hide the pain

You know I like that Ben can be clutch and lead a comeback, it's like knowing you have a switch hitter in your lineup but if be more than thrilled if we never had go use that skill. Coincidentally between bacon, ribs, country style dpsre rubs, baby backs, and shoulder im pretty sure I can eat half of a pig but hoping to never need to use that skill.

Well we usually didn't rely on that skill when Cowher was running the show. It does come in handy though.

Wilson has it too but Ben is more willing to take risks. Sometimes when you throw into triple coverage the receiver will end up with the ball. Wilson either tucks & runs or tries to buy time.

    Thanks!

Point being, Big Ben has absolutely delivered the goods for close to 2 decades....I just don't understand the mindset that sees slagging on him in the twilight of his career as prudent.

Pretty much every other franchise in the NFL would have signed on for the 16 years of production Big Ben has provided....

    …be thankful!

    144-71-1....jeezus!!

Brady is unobtanium. Overlaying that paradigm on any other QB is unfair.

Big Ben has 16-years & 216 starts under his belt (regular season)...has notched 144 wins which translates to 67%.

    Rodgers has 15-years & 174 starts...has notched 113 wins for 65%.

The Big Boy is 13-8 in playoffs vs. 10-8 for Rodgers. Both playoff records are notable but obviously 3 Super Bowl appearances and 2 wins trump 1 appearance and 1 win, by a mile!

Speaking of true mileage, Rodgers really only has 12-years on the odometer (sat behind Favre 3 years) which is a big factor and makes it unfair to The Big Boy to make comparisons on chronological age....

    ...gimme Big Ben 10-out-of-10 times.
