Just saw a post on PFT that Ben "rolled" his ankle in practice, but that they say "he's fine".

    Just what we need.......

I heard someone say on ESPN 970 Pittsburgh that he hurt his anklen/lower leg in practice today. Not sure if it's anything major but I heard he didn't finish practice and Leftwich took the remainder of the snaps for the day.

    why not.

they've only had their top 3 defensive players, Woodley, Harrison and Troy all on the field together for about 1 quarter this season.

their oline has pretty much had everyone on it injured except for Starks. including their #1 draft pick.

their top 3 rb's have all been injured.

they are off to a 2-3 start. so why shouldnt their qb get hurt?

this only adds to the excitement of being a fan of a team.

sometimes i wish i hated sports. sometimes i meet guys that dont follow sports and i wonder how can that be, but then after my team loses and looks terrible doing it, i wish i didnt follow sports either.

just think. the Steelers are the most successful NFL team if you go by super bowl wins and we still complain and hate it when they lose. can you imagine being a Browns, Cardinals or Detroit fan?

sorry got off topic there. dang it. the last thing they need is for Ben to get hurt.

STFU Ben, put some ****ing duct tape on it and get your ass out there and put up 40 points you ve been promising.

Hes probably being a drama queen again and all the other players are stealing his publicity bc they are getting hurt.

No I dont dislike Ben, I just think his mouth loses its brain sometimes when he gets in front of the media.

Geez! Don't you have a dog to kick or something?

The only way Ben puts up 40 points is if the Defense can get off the field which is pretty much a fantasy this season.

Just to clear this whole thing up Ben didn't "promise" 40pts a game. He said that he would like to put up 40 but that he feels like 30 is a reasonable goal. I actually mentioned this when I was at the game last Thursday. I told my buddy when we were at 23 that Ben was shooting for 30 and it looked like he was gonna get it. So much for that.

The only response I've seen from Ben is "I am fine." So how is that being a drama queen, and how did "his mouth lose its brain?"

Exactly. Watching Ben try to play against SF last year was painful. This is a guy who played one week after an appendectomy. The drama queen stuff gets tiresome.

Yes it gets very tiresome. What also gets tiresome are people who make up facts to gripe about. I would love to know the percentage of posters on this board that have ever played a contact sport on a professional level one week after an appendectomy. I would also love to know the percentage of posters on this board that have ever played a contact sport on a professional level with a high ankle sprain, a broken bone in their foot, who knows how many concussions, a slightly torn rotator cuff, and who knows what else. I'm sure the percentage is very low. Something like 0% sounds like the actual retail price to me. For the life of me I can not understand why people would be hating on Ben this year. He's getting rid of the ball quicker. He's taking less sacks. He's throwing less picks. He's not constantly going for the home run. He's the highest rated qb in the league on 3rd down. What part of that do these trolls not seem to understand? Good grief it's getting really annoying.

Don't disagree with any of that. Ben is the toughest QB in the league and plays through injuries that many other QB's don't. But that doesn't mean he's not a drama queen. He is a drama queen and always has been. He loves to talk about every nagging injury that he has. Now you can say he's just answering the questions he's asked, but why do you think he gets asked this stuff so much more than any other QB in the league? He absolutely loves to say he hurt himself but he's fine and he'll be playing. It's almost like he's trying to prove to the world how tough he is. Now I have no idea who disclosed this particular injury to the media or if they witnessed it themselves, but I'm talking about past injuries.

You can call some people on here trolls if you want, but damn near every analyst out there, including all the guys on Sirius NFL, have called Ben a drama queen and have said he needs to stop talking to the media so much. It's not just a handful of people on this site that think he's a drama queen. That doesn't mean those people don't like him. Just because someone thinks he's a drama queen doesn't mean they don't like him. Hell, I have friends who are drama queens. It's just a tiny quality of the bigger picture. I do absolutely think he is a drama queen though, although in this particular case it's a non-issue.

I wasn't necessarlily talking about the drama queen thing. I was just talking in general about how people on here have been acting like Ben isn't playing good this year. The other day I basically saw people blaming Ben for the loss to the Titans and acting like Ben isn't playing good this year. As far as the drama queen thing goes I really think if Ben was a true drama queen that he would've called out his o-line for these past few years (a-la Jay Cutler). Also wasn't it just REPORTED that Ben wasn't happy with the firing of BA? I just saw a story yesterday on NFL.COM that said Ben and Haley had a bad relationship. But constantly throughout the article the writer uses phrases like "I've heard" or " some people have said". I think if Cutler would've gotten his nose broke he would be calling his linemen out right there in front of everyone. If Cutler had been sacked as much as Ben has he would be doing the same thing. But do you remember in 08 how our linemen almost got Ben killed but yet when he lifted up the trophy he said "who's laughing now o-line?" I really think Ben is a good teammate and has been MUCH more forgiving and WAY less dramatic than probably even I have! LOL. We've called for Gilbert, Foster, Colon, Flozell, Starks, and how many others to have their collective heads removed with a butter knife and yet Ben has defended them. I think maybe WE might be the drama queens. lol.

Ben is a good teammate, or at least appears to be and there's no reports out there to think otherwise. As for him calling out his Oline or OC, nope, he doesn't do that, thank god. He's different from Cutler. Cutler is a whining baby, although some of it has been justified over the years. Ben isn't a whiner, he just seems to want to prove how tough he is every time he gets a hangnail. It's almost like he's a bit insecure and feels he has to prove how tough he is by talking about every tiny injury he has and then showing how he can play through it. I wish him and Tomlin would take a page out of the Bill Belichek playbook. Do not talk about injuries, ever. If someone gets injured and has to be on the injury report, be very vague. Hell, Belichek seems to abuse the injury report in that he puts random players on it that aren't even injured, so you can never tell who is and isn't injured.

Ding ding ding! I've said it time and again, the real drama queens are the ones who throw a hissy fit over everything Ben says or does.

I knew Belichik does that with the injury report and I think it's hilarious! I've heard that he has actually listed his whole roster as questionable before but I don't know if that's true. It's still hilarious how he can find ways to get in to peoples heads so good though. He just does it subliminally kinda like Palpatine did it to Anakin ya know? LOL.
