Did anyone see where Ben came out wearing Heath's jersey? As much as we're all gonna miss Heath I can't even imagine how much Ben is going to. With Spaeth gone and Green on the PUP list, I hope that James can step up and be that security blanket that Heath always was. Also at least Ben is finally wearing the jersey at camp of a teammate who's NOT a complete liability. LOL!

Agreed w/ all but Green is expected to be a week 1 starter. He's only on PUP to keep him from agitating his ankle in training camp. He might even get some time in the preseason

He has traditionally been an injury prone player though hasn't he?

Jesse James could definitely stand to impress while he has the chance, could see him some more. One of these two will have to show how well they can block. But Green's injury is at least being reported to be not so serious.

Isn't he just recovering from offseason surgery?

It's something with his ankle. I was thinking that he aggravated it in the offseason but I can't remember.

@mac daddyo@mac daddyo have you been sitting to close to @PWP@PWP or close enough to be getting 2nd hand smoke for a contact high? I think Ben needs to work on his talent evaluation skills if he wants that second career as a PR guy after he is done with football. He is always touting these guys and we get excited for them and they just don't quite live up to the hype, remember Wheaton last season lol. I still think the depth chart will go Green, DJ and James with DJ being the blocking TE and hybrid FB. Its great that Ben likes what Grimble brings but he better be the second coming of HEEEEEATTTTTH if he wants to sniff that field this year

yep, I know I'd love to have the guy get a shot but I'm not getting sucked into another camp feel good story where everyone likes the guy but in the end it is the less talented veteran that gets a hat on game day and is constantly put on the field. Even if Colbert likes him unless Tomlin has had a major coaching philosophy change I think X's chances are 70/30 against. If DJ wasn't on the roster I'd say he would have a better chance.

If Green is healthy ,I don't think he will be missed very much at all ..This is in no way a knock on Miller as I think he was one of the best true TE"S in the game....What I am saying is the game is changing the amount of sub packages are way up , catching the other team with the wrong guys on the field usually provides big plays ....Just like Haley stated that Green is a true vertical threat that speed is a huge problem for Defenses ,that speed will open up running lanes and shorter passing lanes it will also take away the ability of most teams to play man/zone coverage....A lot of teams have already stopped trying to play man because of AB,Bryant,Coates,Bell and yes even DHB because of his speed...

So they have been trying a lot of 2 deep which creates a lot of space and just tried to lock up the TE 1 on 1 if they could ..This will not work against Green, a set with DHB opposite of Green in the formation will be just to much speed to play like that. The 2 deep guys will have to get deeper and the deep Safety on the side of Green will have to shade the seam. This will create all kinds of room for AB,Bell,Coates, and Wheaton to operate in ...

I predict because of that the Steelers will see a lot of umbrella type zones and they will have plenty of room to run after the catch .The ability of our skill players to block in space will be the key. We know DHB can and will do it and Green looks pretty good to me as well doing it ...If our other skill guys will follow suit we can turn just about every pass play into a punt return ...I think this is the vision of this O and it fits our best WR perfectly as he is a YAC Superman...

grimble too is a pass catching TE and with jj cutting weight he too will create mismatches for our TE's. it will open things up and AB needs that. without bryant we need to find ways to take some pressure off him. these guys should help that and it's a domino effect for opening up other guys.

Grimble had to leave practice early today with heat exhaustion.

He can come stay with me in Houston if he needs some real heat acclimation!
