It was pretty quiet early last week.

But on some of the key drives the fans were screaming and towel waving and several of us were in the crowd asking for silence because Laundry Jones needs quiet to work...

How are you suppose to tell drunk people who have been drinking for 5 hours anything?

It's kind of sad this needs to be said. Place will be a morgue until the Steelers are driving for the game winning touchdown. I understand the defense isn't very exciting but I thought we had more football knowledge then this.

Home fans shouldn't need to be told this but I have noticed Ben trying to quiet the crowd during games before.

Kind of negates home field advantage that fans do that

Yeah, it does suck that Ben has to encourage the Heinz Field crowd to quiet down when they have the ball... but it's not like the Arrowhead crowd is gonna cooperate. LOL. They will need the practice of dealing with loud crowds... might as well start on Sunday.

I'll be there, and doing my best to be quiet when they are at the line. Although I doubt my cheers will be heard behind the glass in the north club anyway.

Agree. If we have trouble running our offense in a loud environment, we'd better solve it PDQ because we know we'll be in a hostile environment next week.

Aarowhead isn't nearly as loud in the cold as it is in the warmer months. It's still loud, but not what it normally is, unless it's an unseasonably warm day when we play them

yeah, he was definitely doing that when we played the Ravens. I mean, I can understand the excitement. It was a close game, we were playing the Ravens....I cant really fault the fans that much.

I am a bit surprised that Ben feels this way ...It seems to me that the O has the advantage because they can use hand signals or 1 word change of direction plays or 1 word change from run to pass or from pass to run ....The Defense has to get lined up to that and they need more than 1 word or 1 hand signal to do so...So it's my opinion that crowd noise should be a advantage for the home team O not a disadvantage ....

Ask Phillip Rivers how that worked in his "home" game against the Raiders!
I'm of the opinion that the fans should be as quiet as possible when their team is on offense and scream their heads off when the other guys have the ball!

Oh it can be a disaster if not prepared i agree...What I am saying is if your prepared and all the guys on O are on the same page it seems you could get the D to mis communicate and get some blown coverage...

I can. They were driving and still losing the game. Doing Here We Go Steelers chants. But then you can hear a needle drop when the other team has the ball. It's embarrassing our fans don't understand how this is suppose to work.

It's mainly to do with the o-line and snap count. Not to mention it looked like it was so loud he was having trouble even getting the play. Just all around bad.

I agree, its easy to get caught up in the game but it negates home field advantage if its so loud the offense can't operate.
Just save the deafening decibels for when the defense is out there :herewego:

Because the defense doesn't get penalized for moving. They can wiggle, pick their nose, do a jig, as long as they don't cross that line. It is so much more a disadvantage for the offense when its loud. Why force our offense into a silent count? What about audibles?

You have a valid point, I didn't know it was so loud he couldn't get the play...So I change my view need to tone it down until after the snap....We always used hand signals or players so that is a lot different if he can't hear the play at all...

    QUIET PLEASE, BEN AT WORK.

LOL. When he waves his arm up and down like a bird its not because he is trying to pump up the crowd.
