I don't know if someone posted about this yet- if so I apologize.
Anyway, this article talks about Ben moving around & looking a lot better::

    http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/write...-on-track-to-return-for-chiefs-game-on-oct-25

BUT then another article from Steelers Depot has Ben saying that that no one- including his doctors- knows where people are getting that information/time table from. It also said that Ben is still in a lot of pain & that he will probably wear a brace on his knee when he comes back.

    So what do yinz think?
If Ben is cleared to play by Week 7 at Kansas City, should he play?
Personally- I'd rather rest him for the Week 8 game at home vs the Bungals. (They have the Seahawks, the Bills, then a bye in wk 7. They could be 6-0 coming to Heinz Field.)

He was on the Fan this morning for his weekly radio spot which is where that is coming from.

That being said, Roethlisberger responded to the reports from this weekend that he could be back by the teams week 7 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

“That does not come from me or our doctors. I just left Dr. Bradley and he said, ‘Where do these reports come from that you’re coming back at a certain week?’ I’m like, ‘ I don’t know doc, I haven’t really heard any of them.’ So I assume that’s exactly what he was talking about. We know that people like to just speculate and say things. So that did not come from me, the Steelers or any of our doctor’s more importantly.”

It's all speculation and assumptions. Ben is one tough SOB so it's natural to think that he's ahead of the curve when it comes to injuries.

He is tough! When I heard he'd miss 4-6 weeks, I figured he'd be back around the 4th or 5th week. But as I said above, even if he is cleared to play, I think they should rest him 1 more week to face the Bengals.
Also, I worry they'll put him in before he's ready too, like in last seasons playoff game. It didn't help then & it probably won't help us now

If he is cleared to play, he plays. We cant rest him an additional week. We don't have that luxury. We NEED him on the field.

Like some have said before. I'd rather have a 50%BB than a 100% Vick! JOM.:beathorse:

I would err on the side of caution and sit Ben until he's fully ready to go.

Just remember like in the past, when Ben comes back from being off a while, it takes him a game or two to get in the groove and get back to game speed.

Injuries tend to take longer to heal... the older you get... regardless of how tough you are. I'm thinking he will be closer to 6 weeks than 4.

Season will be over by then. Over the next 4 weeks I only see one winnable game, KC.

As soon as he's given the green light, I want him playing.

    Not Ben!!
He's been training like Bryant did
    studying film
sitting in an office chair throwing passes to his wr keeping his upper body strength, timing, and accuracy to a max
the biggest thing is when he returns does he turn it over like he did before injury?
he owns all of our turnovers
    so

Don't worry. We're winning Monday night. Michael Vick will be a lot better this week.

Taking it a little further, I can see SD, KC, Oak and Clev. as winnable. I haven't seen a time table on his return, but if we can be 5-5 at the Bye, I would be OK with sitting Ben and having him return for the final 6. If he's 90% or so before that, all the better.

Would've helped if we were 4-0 like we should've unquestionably been!

i'm not putting this injury against that injury and expecting the same outcome. i would like to see our fearless leader have the brass ones to use him if he's able but put him on a short leash if he's hurting us in that game. MT won't do that though and would go down with ben limping by and putting himself at further risk.

I agree that Tomlin wouldn't sit him. Crap he didn't even sit Lefty when he was hurt very badly.

I was not pitting injury vs injury, I am just saying Ben should have never played in the SF game , he wasn't ready. I truly believe #7 will be ready by week 4. Maybe wishful thinking?
