But why say this publicly? Is he trying to make a fool of Haley in the media? God, why can't he keep these things to himself.

I've backed #7 for a long-time and often thought people were overreacting to his immaturity and suggested intelligence issues but...
    Ben, please STFU..
I don't know maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this AM for some reason.

I guess he took advantage of the situation and drew the plays out on dirt infield of the Raiders stadium.

I don't care if he did or not, he was by far our best player out there and he played a great game.

It would have been nice if he could have called some defensive plays as well.

Sounds like he did it during the no huddle, it's not like he was ignoring plays being sent in by Haley, Ben calls the plays in a no huddle. Obviously not a big deal since Haley wasn't throwing a hissy fit on the sidelines. Good for him, it worked.

Love how he called the plays when he fills the stat sheet, but not when he throws a game ending pick 6...that's was Todd's play.

I like when Ben is calling his own plays. He seems to have the pulse of his Offense and a good understanding of what the Defense is trying to do.
My problem is solely with the suggestion that he was calling plays from BA's playbook. It implies that he doesn't know or have confidence in the current playbook. It also makes Haley look uninvolved and not in control.
I just don't like him saying it.

:hmmm: He put up the most points in a long time. Maybe he should do this more often.

Classic Ben, always running off at his mouth. Why did he do it? Why couldn't he keep that BS to himself? Why did he say it to the media? Alll good questions. He is so egotistical. My sister called me up from Pittsburgh after the game and said what she always saids, Ben does and saids anything that he wants too and nothing is ever done about it. And thats the truth, he does whatever he wants. How could he make Haley and Tomlin look so stupid in the media. None of this BS would have happened under Cowher's watch.

If I were the coach, this is my team, I would blast his butt. He would never cross the line again for fear of facing my rath. Thats how he was under Cowher. How about on your job you did some of the things that you did under your old boss and told people that you did it so it would get back to your new boss. How does that look? Do you think your new boss would call you in on it? I would and give you a piece of my mind.

What has Ben done this year but have a chance to win two games with a last minute drive but fail to win either game. He had and INT against the Broncos, and a incomplete pass against the Raiders! He had 26 comebacks in his first five years, but only 1 last year against the lowly Colts who won only 1 game last year, almost beat the Steelers. He is right, it is on him for not bring us back!

I blame Tomlin for most of this stuff because he never does anything about it. He should call Bens butt in on the carpet and let him know he is not running anything and that if he does some stupid stuff like that again, he gets a big fine. Haley runs the offense, not him.

I fail to see why people make all these stupid excuses for Ben, like he is some kind of God and what he saids or does is all good. After that stupid statement I can see Haley going off on his butt real soon as it should be. I see things heading for some serious trouble if he keeps doing that stuff weather they are successful or not. Whatever plays are in the offense, thats what he should be calling, not trying to be some kind of maverick. Just win the game!

:lolol: thats some funny **** there, I'm sure 6'5" 250lbs Ben would be quaking in his boots. And he threw and incomplete pass, omg, he sucks so bad, I'd cut him right now, man I wish we had Curtis Painter.

Bens been the strength of this team this year, but yeah, keep blaming him, has nothing to do with the defense.

Man, this was about Ben running his mouth with his stupid comment about calling plays from the past. Did you read it? Man, I don't have to like what Ben does. I like him as a QB but he gets away with too much. He claims to be a team guy but talks different sometimes. I wonder what would happen if several other players said lets use some plays that we used in the past when we are in the no huddle. Forget the plays that Haley has put in! And like I said, if Ben leads a comeback and we win, things are different. He hasn't done it yet. Carson Palmer led the Raiders back in a game they trailed all day. Stop being so sarcastic and look at the facts. If he doesn't win games, lead us to the playoffs or win a Super Bowl, I don't care how good his stats are.

Dude's just being honest. Should he say it, probably not but take this to the bank... Ben will be an O-coordinator and probably a Head Coach someday.

The last thing I can imagine is Ben as an OC. He is probably the least X's and O's oriented QB I've ever seen. That may work for him now, but if he ever had to put together a game plan to be executed by a pedestrian/journeyman starting QB, it would be a problem.

Ben is not scared of Haley.

Ben is not scared of Tomlin.

Ben was and is not scared of Cowher.

Ben was and is not scared of Wiz.

Ben could whip all of their a$$e$.

    Ben has respected them all.

Ben is not the average QB; he is not scared of any other player and he plays that way on the field. Look at the guys that cannot bring him down. So Haley will strike fear in him? Yea right.

Ben is a winner and very talented; THIS IS PROVEN. He is the best or second best Steeler QB of all time. He is, and has been for a while, a top QB in the nfl. He is the most valuable player on the team; losing him has a bigger impact than any other player.

He has earned being treated with respect, but does need RESPECTFULLY corrected occasionally.

The Ben hate is insane and has zero backing. He makes plays and wins. The haters must have actually liked Stewart and Brister. Fools...All of you haters are fools.
