Im not making excuses for a poor outing, just a random thought.

Early in the game there was a closeup of Ben and I commented that he looked badly hungover. Combine that with him not running around at all, I wonder if he had the flu?

He looked like a shell of what he looks like on the occasional elite day.

I'm not sure, but I doubt he was drunk. He didn't look himself at all however. Could have been sick.
I'm so sure Landry Jones might have played better yesterday.

Well isn't it up to Ben to inform the powers that be that he might NOT be he.

That could be it. He was definitely not himself whatever the reason was.

That was just poor team preperation from Tomlin, does anybody know if they practiced Xmas day or just took it off, because even after winning his division Arians had his team practice on the 25th and the players showed up ready and willing to be ready for the packers, thats a coach who set the goal to win the superbowl this year and his team is all in for that big game and that is leadership from a head coach....

Wouldn't have mattered. Tomlin played Byron Leftwich after he broke a rib early and couldn't throw accurately past 5 yards. Tonlin had Batch on the bench with his 7-3 record as Steelers starter.

No way Tomlin sits Ben due to illness.

Many pro and amateur athletes have played with colds/flu/fevers ,,they get pumped with fluids and vitamin C and go out and play ..Most seem to have the game of their careers too ,,not saying Ben was or wasn't ill,but i'm simply saying its no excuse for his play ..I think he went into this game feeling like him and Brown would just connect at will and score 4 or 5 TD's ,,then when it didn't happen he just started to force the ball and hope for a big play ..

Wasn't there a few players out of practice this week with an illness? Maybe it hit him too. He wasn't right that's for sure.

I thought maybe Ben was hit on the 2nd drive and never looked comfortable after that.

i also thought he didn't look well, but he didn't get much help with the game plan and play calling. Like not going for the points and field goal on the 1 st drive. Then showing a tight rushing formation on the 4th down play, and in doing so telegraph what your going to do. Throwing to the Fullback 20 some yards down field when you have the receivers that we do. Consistently throwing long when shorter mid range passes were open.

On defense, enough has been said about Blake. Some strange defensive formations with Shazier on the outside of the outside linebackers, then getting gashed up the middle on running plays. The pass rush was non existent so more blitzes could of helped, only sack was a blitz by Boykin.

Ben had a bad game, but there was no help from the coaches, game plan, his receivers, or the defense. Total team loss and unprepared.

This. It frustrated me throughout the game. The underneath routes were open all day and glaringly open in the second half.

No, the only one that played great was DeAngelo Williams.
