If he does stay out to week 10, I guess it would would depend on the Steelers record, the health status and playing ability of Connor.

You wonder if the Steelers pay him but keep de-activated. $855,000 x 6 weeks is $5,130,000, Steelers would basically be paying 5 million for a 3rd comp pick in 2020.

As stupid as this may sound, the Browns ate $16 million in the Brock Osweiler trade, in the end it was basically paying $16 million for a 2nd round pick.

Thus you would wonder what kind of deal Bell would get being a year away from football.

That does make ALOT of sense..Might not be the only reason he's not here,But it could be the MAIN reason..

 

It's better than removing the tag and allowing some other contender to pay for his services this season. Anything is better than doing that again. (Blount being the worst example of such a mistake.)

 

His interview with MJD today was just bs. He is using anything and everything to make excuses now. I was happy for Conner but if he got 31 carries what would I have gotten? Well given your workload a year ago maybe half that many because you would have looked like crap Bell. Im not happy they talked about my contract. Well they aren't happy you are messing with their money either and before you whine about damage to your body remember those 5 guys on the line play more than you do and take as much or more of a pounding for far less.

 

agreed thorn..... uh.... the point of getting paid to PLAY in the NFL is that you actually have to perform. Pretty sure Ben and the entire OL played 100% of the snaps.... so I'm not sure why everyone gets bent out of shape about RB snap counts.... are they the new Primadonna's?
