Basically it's like this... He's working within the stupid rules that these kids ***** about but ultimately agreed too. His bad rap is just that. He cannot rap but he believes he can and that in itself is a miniature look into how he's approached his contract situation. He's a hell of an athlete, but he isn't a realist. He was offered 2 very nice contracts that would've reset his positions market... Until the next guy reset it as well because that's how it works. Don't feed me the guaranteed money crap. If he was without the injuries/suspensions/slamming the ownership in his ummmm rap songs/broadcasting himself in a dummy light on social media, then I'd be willing to bet the guarantees on this contracts might've been a Little more bell friendly.

His win/loss slants in in his favor in a without him scenario but the team's stat line really does not... Injuries happen but stupidity can be controlled and he's guaranteed that there is a potential for him to be stupid. I don't fault the team, I fault him and hope the team really figures out how to just breathe without him. They over use him and they panic without him... But honestly the results don't change much especially in the post season when it really counts.

Even if he's working within the rules, it doesn't mean he's not being selfish and unreasonable. I think people should be paid what they deserve, but I also know of past Steelers who have actually taken less in order to stay a Steeler because they loved the team.

Yeah, yeah, I know all about the idea of "take what you can get" and "it's not like it used to be," but there's still something to be said for loyalty in addition to talent.

Most players if you offered them 15 mil. a year would be the first guy in the office checking the ink in the printer to make sure it was full and brought 10 pens to sign it with in case one ran out of ink mid signing.

I think he is working within the rules. Nobody excoriates the Steelers when they cut a guy who has years left on his contract but for some reason the players are supposed to put aside their own interests and think about the team. As of right now Bell is not signed and is doing nothing that is not allowed by the CBA. When players complain about Goodell and his arbitrary punishments the common response is that the players shouldn't have agreed to it in the CBA. Well, if the Steelers don't like what Bell is doing then they shouldn't have agreed to it in the CBA. That said, Bell is a douche and I personally don't think he is helping himself by staying out. I think his best course of action is to report, sign the tag, and play his heart out so he can get a big contract from some other team in the offseason. But it is Bell's decision to make, not mine, and is well within his rights if he wants to sit out the first 10 games. As a fan I hope he doesn't but if he does I'll understand his decision even if I don't like it.

Steelers offered Bell two great market value contracts that he turned down. He will not get more than they offered Imo. Like to see him sign & start taking this season as a SB run.

I hope he shows up & signs today.

It’s all about doing the right thing!I understand that the elite free agent market at any position has gone through the roof as the recent contracts for the best players at that position has gone up 30 percent.Bell is pissed off because he thinks he’s being short changed as over the last month top players are getting astronomical amounts of money in their new contracts. He is definitely top two or three all around at the running back position!Saying that 14.5 million isn’t chump change! He’s being totally selfish in not being with the team with only 5 days until the regular season starts with a new offensive coordinator.I know the players like to stick together as it benefits them in the long run also.I think he’s definitely crossed that line as he’s hurting the team big time by pulling this crap and some of his teammates are also not too happy with this game playing!Do the right thing Bell by accepting the measly 14.5 million this year for the team knowing that someone like the Colts or Jets will pay you big time next year as they have plenty of cap space to overpay you.Your character and selfishness really blows!Just do the right thing!!!!!

Why should they be grateful that someone is willing to pay them for their unique skills? The NFL makes billions on their backs. If anything the owners should be grateful to the players for making them oodles of money by destroying their bodies and minds while the owners sit in luxury boxes and watch. I really don't understand why so many fans side with the owners over the players when it is the players who make the league what it is.

AB still signed his contract. Bell did not. AB is about himself but also knows without Ben he’s nothing. His stats with Landry prove that point.

if bell rushed for 2k yards, literally single handely won us each playoff game and won a SB mvp then I wouldn't mind paying him what he wants.

As of right now he is a product of a great o line, ben and AB. banged up come playoff time

That's not the point. The point is LEVEON KNOWS someone is willing to pay more guranteed money than Pitt so let him go pursue what he wants.

I love AB. Not saying he is wrong I'm just stating the steelers are just not a team that gives out guranteed money up front so let leveon go somewhere that they will. Him and his agent have already concluded that point.

Also isnt even abiut just that. It's about just how the team feels about spending. Khalil mack did abosultelt nothing for oak not to pay him but hold out and guess what they got rid of him and he is a hall of fame talent. It happens they cut bait when they knew they wouldn't pay him. I dont see why Pitt dont do the same.
