I'm at that point too. Was hoping RB wasn't in consideration at all but today's news changes that for me.

If Bells agent is stalling, I’d imagine they’ve got feelers out with other teams willing to pay.

As @thorn058 said, the issue will be guaranteed money.

We got that answer last year when he crapped on a pretty good offer... Answer is too much!

I wouldn't surprised if Bell wanted 20 million a year.

The only justifiable reason for letting him go imo is if we are getting a game changer or two on defense. If not then keep him and just pray we can outscore everyone and have a historically great offense.

Just heard on the radio. Not even sure who it was. I heard bell and stopped flipping. They said he wanted 18 a year. Didnt hear a source if they had one. If that is the case tag him and hope someone wants a trade

Hard to believe that your offered 13.5 million and the highest paid RB in the NFL gets 8.5 million and you feel low balled.

Biggest problem with the Tag on Bell is that every penny counts toward the cap, if they make a deal i believe only half counts, we only have 6 mil in cap space so tagging him means we need 8 mil in restructuring and cuts JUST to tag him, leaves nothing to improve Def.. when's the last a team won SB with the highest paid RB and a sub par def ? LET HIM GO!

Signing Bell long term would be idiotic. You tag him call his bluff and let him walk after hopefully a SB. Ben has 1-2 years left after that he’s gone and with no QB having Bell tied up for all that money will just delay the rebuild. On top of it I think Leveon is already declining and will continue to next year he has no breakaway speed and rarely breaks off 20 plus runs. He’s still a great overall RB don’t get me wrong but not worth anywhere near what he thinks. Happy the Steelers are being smart about this.

if Bell were to fail a drug test or miss a test. Is he looking at 10 games or a whole season suspension? I'm thinking 10 games.

Bell is asking for 14.5 mil, this comes after Steelers upped their offer from last year, Bell reiterates, he's not bluffing about retirement. Bye Felicia!

So what i am hearing is the steelers are at 13.5 and he wont sign for less than 14.5. Is he an idiot? I would jerk pen out of their hand. Does he realize that is almost double the current highest paid back?

I don't think he realizes anything. I would offer him the 14.5 a year with conditions on the guaranteed money related to suspensions and overall behaviour

We have plenty of WR options ,I think a 1 cut runner will work just fine . Get another down hill RB and use PA more . Don't deal with the drama if he thinking of holding out or missing camp just move on now .

He's making a huge mistake turning that down. He is another injury away or a down year away from having a real hard time finding a suitor next year for anything close to that. After another year of heavy use what team is gonna give him 14.5 next year. His financial sense is almost as bad as his rap game.....

Bell is thinking because his tag is 14.5 this season, he wants to average that the rest of the years after that on the contract .

I figured that out awhile ago Bell isn't too bright, I stopped following him on Twitter after he got suspended the second time.

If Bell wants to average 14.5 million a year then give him a short deal only 3 years, by then he would be out of his prime. Also Ben will be ready to retire by 2020, offer Bell a 3 yr deal and a good signing bonus if he turns it down to hell with him.
