Mr. Rooney said he expects him by the "end of camp". So there's that. LOL!

If somebody offered me 12.1 million dollars I'd be up before everyone else cooking them breakfast before sunrise at camp.:superman:

They were actually talking about this on SNR because Schefter was making such a big deal about it like he had the scoop of the century. It was so ridiculous I had to share

I can't stand Schefter honestly. I really don't hardly like any of those "journalists" that try to act like they are such "insiders". I think it was Schefter that published Jason Pierre Paul's medical info a few years ago and James Harrison straight up called him out about it on twitter.

Bell knows he can skip camp and still get his 12.1 million.

Maybe if they were paid for the preseason, he would be there? I really don't understand how it works, just seems odd he can skip a month and make his entire check.

Until reading up on this situation, I did not know that Jack Lambert skipped the 1977 training camp when he was unsigned. A lot less $$ but the same principle I guess.

I'm not overly concerned. It would have been good to have him practicing with the team, but I didn't want to see him on the field in preseason.

He doesn't need to practice. He needs to stay clean. I feel this will be his last season in Black & Gold.

    As expected.

But still it is good news considering Aaron Donald's holdout may last into the regular season.

That's it. I'm now getting rid of my Jack Lambert jersey and picture in my gameroom. What a greedy scumbag. REAL Steelers would NEVER holdout!

Bell won't hold out. Any game missed for him hurts his stats, which therefore hurts his chance at his huge pay day he wants.
The big stats get you paid.

If he gets injured early season the rage is going to be he didnt have a training camp, he says he is staying in shape, but it's not football shape the same as he would get working out with his team mates every day, he doesnt need to play any preseason games but he needs to interact with the backs coach and any new plays haley will install in the offense, he will be behind schedule for sure after he misses camp, period....

According to the post gazette any games missed will cost him 700k+. I thought as long as he shows up by week 10 he got the full payout but I guess that's not the case though I think teams offer it to player to get them to come in.

I hope he shows up sooner than later so he can play in the 3rd preseason game.

I don't even care anymore. Field the team based on who is there and move on.

There's a report out (Bouchette) that says his agent had agreed to a contract with the Steelers, but Bell pulled the plug at the last minute. The agent refutes the report, of course.
